But this year they've got better and we probably dropped off a little bit from last year.

Thing is though, if we had gone through, I really doubt we would have been able to complete for both the CL and PL given how tired the players looked in the Chelsea and Forest games. I think it would have been one or the other.

Fair play to Real Madrid, they're still the top team out there. Looks like they're only going to get stronger next season too, to add to the improvements they made this year. Their winners mentality is unmatched, nobody comes close. The players understand what it means to play for such a prestigious club.

I took a look at Bellinghams player ratings - they’re really all over the map. Sometimes one of the highest and sometimes one of the lowest. He seemed to get a lot of credit for being better than the first leg - a luxury afforded to no other player.

They dumped us out twice because the footballing gods for some reason decided it, we are better than them and can juggle three competitions in one season. We proved that and they can't, so just concentrate on the CL every season. If they tried, they would end up 3rd in La Liga, or lose the final.

We had no problem with doing it last season, so we can't use that excuse this season when we lose.

We're still not quite as savvy as them in knockout competition, that's why they knocked us out twice now.
