Championship Thread - 2023/24

Well done on the win. I opted to watch you lot rather than the cultists, and you were clearly the better side. Re the empty seats; if that was us, we'd be savaged on twitter. It didn't look great on the telly.
Cheers Jim
Oh yes I know youd be savaged..and the rest .. but let's be honest...any excuse to have a pop at City and most jump on the bandwagon....

It's all pathetic jealousy in my book

Shocking decision..but we scraped a win...

40k there apparently....although that's tickets sold..not necessarily bodies in the stadium...

Saying that, when the weather is crap, the first several rows are often empty as they are the ones where you get pissed on...I'd have a punt at 32-35k there
Went to this game last season with a WBA supporting mate.
It was Baltic and icy as hell.
Sunderland have an amazing support, 30,000 plus for a 12.30pm kick off is excellent.
Hope Sunderland pick the right manager, as you have some very promising youngsters.
Think you will at least get in the play-offs, as Sunderland play entertainment football...

Holy shit we've won away :)

Can see Alex Neil getting his cards in the near future
The start of the charge for the play offs.

;-)

Just had a look at the table. You're 8 points adrift of safety. Not brilliant, but you've not been totally cut adrift. You could do with following up today's result with another couple of good results. Norwich away on Wednesday (they've been up and down this season), then home against QPR next weekend, which is a huge game for you. If you could get, say, four points from those two games, it could kick-start your season.

Absolutely m8

Still 95% we go down but if we can keep picking points up till the transfer window opens then you never know.

If the league started when Danny Rohl was appointed we'd be 18th, Birmingham City would be 24th

Great to see a proper team with proper supporters beat a shit house, fickle, bullying racist and bigoted team last night. I'd love it if Sunderland were promoted. LOVE IT!!!
