People are looking for simple answers when there isn't one. It's seems bizarre that a TV crew can easily find people getting in boats but the French authorities can't. The fact is the French govt are happy for many to slip through and the British govt would prefer the French to stop them.
Even on this thread those with an agenda have aimed the blame solely on our side of the channel and anyone who questions that gets labelled racist.
It will only be solved at source but God knows how you would do this.

Yup, we need to change it, as someone mentioned change the way people apply for it from outside of the UK.
But this just let anyone in nonsense just isn't flying. When we do set something more suitable up we have to decide what to do with the back door suspects when they are caught after hey have been refused asylum.
Definitely agree that it can’t be an open door policy. We still need to follow due process and anyone denied who then takes their life into their own hands by trying to cross the channel won’t get much sympathy from me should it go to shit for their actions. But we’ve simply got to give them the chance first.

If you were young and healthy you may decide its worth the risk. It's a bloody big one even in the summer. But anyone elderly, female(generally) or children in November is sheer madness.Awful way to go, they must have been terrified.
They are getting some serious deceitful information by those cunts who offer them the promise of a better life.

This tradgedy is entirely the French authorities fault, The migrants leave their shores, where the UK has no juristriction. And the French are happy to let these people cross as they arnt in their country. Plenty of film footage of Gendarmes watching people leave France. They could also easily stop people buying these big dingies and could easily catch the smuggling gangs with easy undercover police operation. What do you suggest? Detain them on the beach?
