Can somebody explain why this story is getting so much media coverage in the UK? Unless you were a follower/sympathiser here he had no role in our system and was just another example of the views that thrive amongst certain sections of the US populace.

Just seen the video. Grim stuff. And his young family were there as well, apparently Puzzling how the assassin has seemingly got away. Looking at the high level footage, there was a large crowd there, most of them (presumably?) fans of Kirk. If the gunman was close to the stage, he'd likely have been in the middle of those people. They'd have ripped him to pieces, no? And if he shot him from some distance away, that's one hell of a shot.

He was very influential amongst the younger end of MAGA support. He tried to bring his views to the UK and foolishly chose the Oxford Uni Debating Club to air them and got torn a new one. He advocated gun freedom and supported Israels action in Gaza. Politically he was not on my side of things and when up against critical thinkers was found to be wanting but if anyone's answer to a view they don't agree with be it politics, sports or anything is at bare minimum is to smack them in the mouth then you are simply wrong - discuss, debate even agree to disagree violence is never the answer.

Trump will just do what trump does and use this as a way to sew further division and demonize the left while ignoring the atrocities that his own support have committed, the fact that he is asking all flags to be flown at half mast for this guy is endemic of him as a person, just because he said some nice things about him he gets called a legend and gets a pass is disgusting from the orange haired buffoon.
