Charlie Kirk shot dead at Utah university

To any others saying “he never advocated for violence” or that all he did was “calmly debate”, some light reading from our friends at Reddit, including sources.

Yeah, but Hillary’s emails . . . .

I may well be missing something here as I didn't watch the full video, but on the TMZ doorbell footage before the shooting, the guy is limping. The theory was that he had the gun down the leg of his trousers. So where's the gun when he leaps down from that roof and runs off into the housing estate? He didn't leave it on the roof as they found it in the forest behind those houses. And if it was able to be broken down and put in his backpack, why wouldn't he have just done that on his way to the scene instead of shoving it down his trousers?
Why cant they show a picture of his full face instead of the side or looking down ?
Fucking weird !!

Yes it is, the particular collation of incendiary quotes I asked for provenance of seemed scarcely credible from a figure allegedly so influential with millions of young Americans that he actually got Trump re-elected. He certainly came out with some stomach churning stuff. Interesting he was currently pushing for the Epstein files to be published.

Just watched a BBC video of extracts from his debates and it's linked to this article - I'll post if it becomes available.

More than interesting I'd say. There are a fair few MAGA who seem to be viewing him as a traitor for pushing for them to be released. There are still lots of possibilities in terms of who did it and why.

There's also the possibility that we end up with a convenient patsy...

Does it matter? All you have to do is read the comments on here to understand that a lot of people are finding an excuse to justify the killing based purely on the victims politics. That's mentally sick surely?
Which posts here specifically “justify the killing”?

You should probably have a list as long as SWP’s; you said “a lot”.

What did he do? He pretty much just debated people in public and gave people a platform to oppose him. Isn't that a good thing?

He's been killed for speaking his views, that's it. He's never told people to go out and harm others. If others listen to him and agree with what he says about religion and politics, so what?

So his actions are maybe influencing people to hold more conservative views? That's it. What's the difference between that and influencing people to hold more liberal views?

I dont know what these "actions" are that you speak of regarding this fella.
For the 3,894th time, you do not know why he was killed.

I believe you’re going to leave this thread after SWP’s post, or have a bit of a personal moral crisis if you say “So what?” to it, but I will reiterate — again for the 3,894th time — there is a difference among HAVING beliefs, SPEAKING your beliefs, and HOW you speak them.

What are fragile young minds? Starmer's quite happy for 16 year olds to have the vote.
I've seen a couple of Kirk's YouTube videos over recent years, if that's the sort of stuff you like then watch it, if you don't, look for something else.

These fragile young minds are in University where they are supposed to be challenged and pushed back from the liberal mindset on campus, as you rightly point out.

Most of Kirks views aren't/weren't exactly radical, most people would think that men pretending to be women and BLM are radical.

There were somewhere in the region of 45000 deaths in america last year attributed to shootings. There were children killed in a school on the same day as Kirk was shot. How pray tell does this correlate with "guns save more lives than not"?

Organisers should have gave all 3000 students at campus that day a handgun,, this would have made everyone safe and prevented that tragedy.

Already talk of pushing for the death penalty for the perpetrator if found. Probably deserves it, but depending on his motives could end up backfiring and making him a leftist/liberal /dei martyr in much the same way as Kirk is now a sort of rw/maga jesus.

Why would I have heard about it?

I don't follow anything to do with US Politics - and until recently only started paying some interest in UK Politics.

It's a Political Event that happened in America.

I don't know how much clearer I can be - I. DON'T. HAVE. ANY. INTEREST. IN. US. POLITICS.
What. The. Fuck. Are. You. Posting. In. Here. For. Then. You. Fucknugget!!

A law enforcement official cited by the New York Times has now confirmed details of Donald Trump's comments to Fox News, saying a man was taken into custody at around 11pm local time (6am UK time) by Utah state and local police.

The unnamed official said authorities were not releasing the suspect's identity because they were still in the process of pursuing leads and executing search warrants.
