Sakho missed the ball AND Dzeko. If he's caught him in that first movement then yes, penalty 100%. But he didn't and Dzeko sort of made contact as he was gong through then decided to fall. If he goes down as Sakho comes in then he'll get the penalty but he didn't.
Not only that but he would have been banned for the next game. Of course who knows if Henderson would have been red carded after and sturridge would have gone off injured, but if that happened the red cheating dippers would be all over the shopElanJo said:Even if you forget the obvious pens, there's no way we wouldn't have won that game comfortably if Suarez had been sent off in the 50th minute.
not any lower than trying to invoke memories of 96 dead people to try and motivate players to win a football matchOlivavu said:SlinkyKinky said:birchwoodgingerste said:Tasteless comment that!
Completely true, the world and the ref has been suckered into the emotional porn of hillsborough! If he had sent of suarez and we drew or won, all you would here would be cries of injustice. Hillsborough was a terrible disaster and the effects on families was terrible, however they milk that worse than united ever did with Munich.
Blaming Hillsborough?
That's low. Really low.
So if you don't intend to foul a player but foul him it's no foul? Intent has nothing to do with it.Prestwich_Blue said:The experts know fuck all to be honest. Suarez dived in to the foetal position clutching his face. His intention was to get a free kick and get demichelis carded. It was clear simulation and unsporting conduct. As clear a yellow card as there is. Complete bottle job by clattenberg. I'm still fucking angry about it.city5189 said:I find it bizarre that clattenberg blew for the dive by saurez but did not book him for it. I thought any simulation results in a booking??

Gillespie said:You should have had a pen for the Skyrtl forearm smash but to be honest you can't blame the ref. No one noticed it at the time and we wouldn't have known except for the replay from Sky.

He chose not to book him because he knew he was walking if he did, no doubt about it

Clattenberg didn't have the option to view several replays of the incident. If he did, he would have given it.
He didn't cost us this game today. None of the 5 goals today had anything to do with a refereeing decision.
Prestwich_Blue said:The only really stonewall penalty was the Skrtel handball but who saw that in real-time? Suarez could easily have gone and probably should have but I guess he's got to be 100% sure in a situation like that.CityFan94 said:I thought the ref was actually pretty good today.
He wasn't going to give a penalty today to either side unless it was a stonewall decision and I don't think any of them were.
Suarez probably should have been shown a second yellow for his dive, but Clattenberg definitively didn't cost us this result today.
The Dzeko one he went down far too late and Sakho didn't really take him out. The one on Milner(?) was a closer call but still not stonewall.
