So he's just an utter **** now and not a rapist.
Yes but he could return to being an utter **** AND rapist again soon.So he's just an utter **** now and not a rapist.
What sort of 'fresh evidence' is being speculated that could have come to light?
It's obviously got to have some major value for the conviction to be quashed. Maybe texts the girl has sent since basically saying she did consent or was out to get money from crying rape?
With the conviction being quashed does this mean when asked to fill in his car insurance form or what not he can now put 'no' when asked if he's been convicted of a crime?
jury selection will be fun as its vital no one on the jury has an unfair opinion of him (or her)
The American system (certainly in some states) used to be brilliant pick a Large group of people that match the state and eliminate 1 by 1 turning a very fair pool into a very biased jury - I hope in this trial they do get an untainted and open minded jury who have not spent too much time on this caseJury selection in the UK is simple - they draw 15 from a pool of at least 100 for each trial. They then draw 12 of those for the jury.
Only if you have a close link to the case will you be excused - it's not an American TV set-up where each side try to stack the jury.

She never cried rape in the first place, so it can't be anything like that.Maybe texts the girl has sent since basically saying she did consent or was out to get money from crying rape?
There are actually quite a lot of countries in The world where you can get off through a financial settlement of the victim agrees and save on trial and prison time. She never cried rape in the first place, so it can't be anything like that.
The country I live in being one of them. I think it sets a terrible precedent though, as it inevitably results in the rich avoiding justice at the expense of the poor. But that's a discussion for another day! There are actually quite a lot of countries in The world where you can get off through a financial settlement of the victim agrees and save on trial and prison time.
