Chelsea (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Seeing Khus with that huge smile post match.. Got to love it for that young man. Had to have been so anxious coming to this league, making that shift. Now the way he's proved himself and earned his spot- really happy for him.
I think we've all got a bit of love for Kushy after his debut. He was all over the place the first 15 minutes(with not a lot of help from his fellow defenders tbh) but the way he came through that game and showed so much character was all you need to know about the kid. Fuckin love him!

I think its fucking shameful of the fans to turn their backs on the play, shameful i say. Fans should be respectful and watch the full game and not enjoy themselves.

What next some Johny come lately pretending to drink out of an arsenal bottle.

We are City we dont do humour

What next some Johnny come lately taking blow uo bananas to a game, give me strength.

What next loads for Johnny come latelys singing about empty seats, the invisible fans.

We are City and we take things seriously.

:)

you forget that most City fans are nervous nellies until we are 4-0 up in the second minute of additional time and even then.....
Its the way we were brung up.
Good post though mate.
The most old of us expected to lose and as such were laughed at by the other team fans of yesteryear. They admired our loyalty but shook their heads at why we should choose such a poor team.

Of course we were City through and through but as one of them I have only just got used to us usually winning these days.
That doubt was not a fear it is mostly born out of reality as one says typical City.

That “fan” they kept showing, if he’s disabled, then it’s on the tv studio and it’s out of order showing him being weird. If he’s actually a grown man that took a bottle with the arsenal logo into the game, and then those shirts with messages on, our fan base is absolutely ruined by weirdos
None more than yourself. FFS! 14 comments in 18 months then you come on here taking the moral high ground with a top blue who was having a laugh. Dear oh dear.

Don't agree we were shit first half , we competed gave little away , more shots , more corners , more possession against a top five team , we softened them up in the first half and stepped up a gear , thats what great teams do.
We were poor first half...not convinced we will win the league, both us and Arse look like they can drop points, we have to be on it from the first minute on Sunday.
Beat them then it's game on !!

City record under Pep after 31 games:

Season: Points, Final Points (Position)

16/17
: 61pts, 78pts (3rd)
17/18: 84pts, 100pts (1st)
18/19: 77pts, 98pts (1st)
19/20: 63pts, 81pts (2nd)
20/21: 74pts, 86pts (1st)
21/22: 74pts, 93pts (1st)
22/23: 73pts, 89pts (1st)
23/24: 70pts, 91pts (1st)
24/25: 52pts, 71pts (3rd)
25/26: 64pts, ??pts (???)

For the first time this season we're trending above both the 16/17 and 19/20 seasons at the same time.

In the 16/17 season, we got 17 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 81 this year.
In the 17/18 season, we got 16 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 80 this year.
In the 18/19 season, we got 21 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 85 this year.
In the 19/20 season, we got 18 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 82 this year.
In the 20/21 season, we got 12 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 76 this year.
In the 21/22 season, we got 19 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 83 this year.
In the 22/23 season, we got 16 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 80 this year.
In the 23/24 season, we got 21 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 85 this year.
In the 24/25 season, we got 19 points from our last 7 games. That would put us on 83 this year.

Apart from the 20/21 season - when we'd basically already won the league and took our eye off it to prepare for the CL final - we tend to finish with at least five wins and a draw once we've locked in (and sometimes more). I think, looking ahead, we'll finish on 83 points (6 wins, 1 draw). That means we have to beat Arsenal and hope they drop points in one more game to at least finish in front of them on goal difference.

Definitely doable.
so under Pep it looks like we get 17.66 pts in our last 7 games, on average. Let's call it 18.

18 pts from 21 - including a win against Arsenal - will put us on 82, with them still able to get 85. Would they get 5 from 5? dunno maybe.

whichever way you cut it, this is probably going to be very tight.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaah anyone listen to 606?!?

Some Arsenal fan rang up saying sack Arteta tonight and get someone else in to ‘get it over the line’

Hahahah I’m in fuckin pieces listening to this ****
I know a few, and it's a wide held opinion of him, not many rate him or his tactics highly, I think he'll get the push in the summer.

It was a great win yesterday!

I don't think we were poor but we took a while to get going, but that's been the same for the last three games.

It looks like we're trying to play our game and figure out what the opposition is trying to do. Once we do we up our game, look the much better team and have cantered to victory in each of those games.

The difference between us and the Arse is that we're playing some good football and coming into form, at just the right time, and they're not!

Currently projected to finish between our league-winning side in 2021 (86 points) and the team that finished second in 2020 (81 points).

83-85 points looking likely now if we can carry on in this form. That should be enough if we beat Arsenal and they wobble.
