Chelsea (a) post match thread

Dominate and win 1-0
Dominate and fail to take 3 points
Beat one of the mid-table teams 3 or 4-0
Fail to register a decent performance OR win against a rival near the top
Sprinkle in a few routine wins and hammering off shit like Everton

aaaaaaand repeat 4 times over and you have our season in a nutshell. Again.

B B B But next season will be different. Zzzzz, those paying supporters sometimes deserve to be more than an after-thought for next year. This is a very average season for a club wanting to be where we're headed.

Fuck me im pissed off.
 
It always makes me cringe when you see the comments on the United thread, they are crap but we are no better, the 'Donkey Derby' should be fun on the 27th aka the battle for fifth.

we played well but we lacked that spark......sane was poor tonight as was KDB - two players who we need to be stepping up (not so much sane) - KDB in particular needs to be dropped..he has been really poor for a while now.

Navas - well we all know his limitations which are considerable. He has never done anything to dispel those and tonight was no different

Positives were Kompany and Delph (a bit limited player but did his job well tonight...long term he aint what is needed though). Great to see a commanding performance from Kompany again...loked knackered and understandably rusty but still by far our best defender and his distribution was fantastic as well.....Stones could learn a lot from watching how to battle physically with a player like Costa as Kompany did all night....

we need to finish top 4 and its going to the wire....

I totally agree but could our back 4 defend like Chelsea - throwing elbows etc. of course not. Any contact from a City defender results in a free kick and usually a yellow card. In both games against Chelsea the rules have been applied differently to the two teams. We don't defend well but we can't have ANY contact.
 
The team has regressed since last season and the Pep doubters maybe now have a point.
Also sick and tired of him arse kissing the opposition managers and players. Any chance of winning one of the big games please Pep after you have finished your love in.

The hierarchy need to tell him in no uncertain terms what is expected next season. The nice approach isn't working. At all the top clubs in the world the manager takes the fall if the team doesn't perform,we should be no different whether it's Guardiola or not.
 
I'm surprised Toure never came on. He's exactly who you need when you need to create something from nothing. That pass from Nolito was amazing though.
 
Still can't beat the big teams. Depressingly, it's just the same as last season.

He brought the right players on, just should have been for Clichy and Delph instead of taking our two most likely match-winners off.
 
17 attepmts, 7 on target with 1 goal to show. That is the problem and one that will be fixed along with a functioning back four to support Stones
 
We had Chelsea worried, Manager and team for a lot of that game. The difference was Hazard so why so much anti Pep, kdb etc, etc?
 
See how close our defenders were for the penalty rebound, what a joke. Who the fook would not have their fastest players instructed to pick up the rebound, who the fook as a player wouldn't want to get there first, I know I would.
Some of these lot just go through the motions, Sane pretending to be Yaya when chasing the ball down or closing in to defend is getting my goat now, he has everything and isn't giving it yet.If Pep has the team they need to start showing it, their is no room for so many luxury and inconsistent players.
If only John Stones was so measured at cleaning up for us in our penalty box I would be happy, but no he continues to be the best defender for the opposition at set pieces, how could he miss those two chances.
Mike Dean, well what a biased cnut, books Kxnte is the last minute and lets them hack Silva down at every opportunity.

he's instilling a work ethic and philosophy in this team that hasn't been seen before...ever... he's not got the players at his disposal. Next season will be a complete different entity. the players will know what to expect and if they don't like it they will be fucked off.
