Chelsea (A) Post Match Thread

We knew we needed something from this game and we did f..k all! Totally gutless and heartless peformance, we thought that following Pep's game plane and have confidence in our individual skills would make Chelsea fall in front of us.

Did you watch the game? Gutless, heartless?? Give it a rest, jog on.

It`s nothing more than a blip.
We will come back better, stronger and hopefully we won`t falter again this season.
We certainly need to give Walker a break and Delph. Both are making mistakes that are costing us. I can`t help feeling that both Stones and LaPorte are playing out of their skins backing them up more than they would like or should. I`m hoping constantly looking after the full backs isn`t going to mess them up as they are doing so well as a central partnership.
Stroll on Kun and KDB returning too. David Silva needs the help he gets from KDB next to him and of course that pair playing together will ultimately give Bernado and Stirling more space.
Keep the faith boys

I've watched us lose games in Division 1 and the Championship and wonder where the next point will come from. Fast forward to now and we are watching the greatest City team we will ever see. There will be defeats, but enjoy the ride fellow blues. It can't last forever. Perspective

Onwards an upwards. I predicted a defeat today and the title come May. Pressure on the dippers now. Picking today's winnings up tomorrow and slapping it on us for the title.

Disappointed with the result but there's far worse teams to lose to, they worked really hard for their points.

Hats off to Chelsea, they hung in there for the first half and a got lucky break with the Kante goal when City were much the better team, I don't care how many shots we had because we were applying pressure against a very good team in their own ground and dominating them pretty much. I also don't know what BT were seeing but there wasn't much between the two teams in the 2nd half(most of their attacks were in fact counters and we reduced them to shooting tame efforts from outside the box and a few generous free kicks) but I guess people over compensate when we aren't totally outplaying them, teams naturally feel a little braver when they are ahead and Chelsea were no exception. The second goal killed the game, I don't think it was a corner but we should have defended it better, how did Gundogan end up trying to deal with Luiz?

Today could have been much different if we were at full strength, Mendy would have given us a lot going forward, Aguero would have been handy, oh and that fella KDB might have given them more to think about. Finally, although they didn't play badly, Silva and Fernandinho look like they need a rest, they'd probably have been able to affect the game more otherwise, hope Silva is ok.

All in all we shouldn't get too down about this, they had to get a lucky win against an understrength Man City team at the end of the day. I am more concerned that the players already look tired and the busy period has only just started.
Great summary of the game.Cant disagree with any of that. And its a definite well done Chelsea from me,they worked bloody hard for that win....will be interesting to see how they fare in their next game....some of their players will be running on empty.

Chelsea are a good team and we were missing Mendy, KDB and Sergio. I said at the start of the season than if City don’t win the league I’d have no problem with United or Chelsea winning it but if Liverpool do it will be unbearable. It doesn’t bare thinking about, they’ll want a public holiday(not that they need an excuse not to go to work)!

It’s hard to be too pissed off with this team after all the joy that they have brought us so far. They aren’t machines, sometimes you just have to accept that we will be beaten.
It’s easy to point out in hindsight what we could/should have done different but the manager doesn’t get the luxury of that, he puts out a team that he believes is good enough to get the points and for 45 mins he was probably vindicated.
There were too many average performances on the day and we come up against a team chomping at the bit and giving their absolute all. Missing players finally caught up with us and those who are usually relied upon fell short. Shit happens.
Some of the reactionary shite on this thread is extremely disrespectful to what we’ve achieved so far and just goes to show that expectations have gone through the roof.
We’ll win this league and win it well. Some of you don’t deserve this team.

We learn from today and move on.

Can't wait for our next game when we can start another twenty-plus unbeaten run and overhaul the scouse bastards to win the league.
