Chelsea (A) Post Match Thread

9 times out of 10 CFC would lose playing that way but they scored with their first attack after 45 mins and that made it very difficult. Sometimes easier to play counter-attacking game but basically it's an admission of inferiority

It is but I think Sarri admitted that before the game. All teams are inferior to us so they have to plan accordingly. They did and it worked.

A lot of our stars weren't up for the fight. Sane, Mahrez, Jesus.....

Poor Hazzard looks as if he has MS - every time a light blue shirt went near him he fell over.

And what about our resident hatchet man - Sterling - all 5'8" of him, wiping out 6'3" Luiz ??? If Raz hadn't jumped, Luiz would have broken his leg. He had to feign injury to avoid a card.

Love Jesus and think he will be a useful player at some point, however... He would not be the second striker at any of the other top teams in Europe, he isn't at that standard yet, in fact quite a long way off. The drop off in quality between Aguero and Jesus is huge.

That first half from Chelsea was basically a smash and grab, Italian style, no Sarri football played it was backs to the wall Conte style and they got a lucky break but we had multiple chances and fluffed it.

Anyway it's only one game, we need to try and play some of our second string more often to give the likes of Fern a rest, if that means getting knocked out of cups so be it.

Doesn't feel any better in the cold light of day.
Not the defeat but the manner of it. The lack of resolve and fight was reminiscent of our anfield excursions last year.
Going back to bed. Christmas cancelled until further improvement or a good dipper defeat.

Any other season with pur team and I’d shrug it off.. not so sure about this one. Everything is going Pool’s way.. injuries.. luck... you name it... it’s working for them. They started off a bit jaded up top but are managing games much better than I thought possible and as much as I despise them they seem to have a real substance to them this term and the goals and Salhas form seem to be creeping back. I’m actually worried as I feel like that they have somehow negotiated an out of form period yet are top of the league and unbeaten.

Bad loss tonight blues.

Lets see how often you post once you are under us again in the table and drifting away

Don't understand people saying Pep got the team wrong. That seems to be the default statement when we have a bad day but what else could he have done? Play Jesus from the start? He's certainly not playing anything like a match winner at the moment. That was our strongest available line up.

As others have said up until their goal we were dominating the game, second half we were abysmal. We don't go behind very often, and it seems to knock the stuffing out of us when we do.
Its because we are blessed with so many pep replacements ready to step in when he gets the boot for dragging us down the table

Better team in the 1st half and we should have been ahead going in at half time.
2nd half, we didn't show enough fight or create enough.
