Chelsea (A) Post Match Thread

I think Sarri deserves a LOT of credit for yesterday. He's very passionate about his method of football much like Pep is.

BUT Sarri remembers his track record vs Pep, and he altered his method of play, deploying a lower block (surprising Pep as he conceded himself) instead of playing his more usual riskier game.

Imagine if Pep had that in him too vs bogey teams like Liverpool. He'd shit on everyone even more than he does right now.

Pep did change things vs Liverpool.

The only change he made was not making the team attack more than we usually did, in effect trading our forward play for defensive solidity, which pretty much made it look like we're content to just pass around and get a 0-0. Sarri altered it in a way they won 2-0.

It's been coming. It's also a monkey of the players backs. Back to winning ways next week

They could easily have been three down in the first 44 minutes as they were getting a chasing, no matter what the system. Poor finishing cost us and they score with their first shot as at least three players are around Hazard ( And still don't stop the pass) and no one picks up Kante. They were better the second half but again score from their first corner. Shit happens it has probably been coming for a couple of weeks. You get away with it against lesser teams but rarely against the top ones.

Let's wait until he does that at Anfield or Etihad before proclaiming him as a tactical genius.

I would consider him a very lucky coach - playing against us at a time we are missing Aguero, KDB, Mendy and get Silva injured.

So - the second half.....

What’s your opinion on what changed:
1. Tactical shifts?
2. Belief (theirs and/or ours)?
3. Fatigue/injury

And separately ...
There has been a trend of us having weaker second half performances (IMO) - I’ve previously put that down to us taking our foot off the gas when comfortable but any other views????

Bottled it yesterday sane never turns up against the best defenders David was non existent worried now with the injuries we picked up too.

No matter guys, we already won the Comunity Shield to these, only 3 points are lost, Liverpool will soon fall playing with almost the same players all the games, will come the fatigue of them and their null hierarchy to define in the final matches, we are the current champion and the strongest team in England.
