Mourinho's philosophy is defence is the best form of attack. Liverpool will try to win firstly cos they know no other way, and secondly they know Palace away won't be easy. And Mourinho will play a similar game to the Etihad - soak up the pressure and hit them on the break.

it's possible, but I give a Chelsea win no better than 20% chance.
Just look how Liverpool struggled against Norwich in the 2nd half, a better team, with an impartial ref ( yes that's aimed at you Clattenberg!) if Chelsea can soak up the 1st half pressure, the 2nd half will see Liverpool hit the panic button, and if Chelsea score, the shit could hit the fan.

Unfortunately, I very much doubt the ref will be in impartial. Norwich's free kick no-call at the end was even worse than the no-calls in our game.

Refs aside, every ball is currently running for Liverpool. Look at their 3rd goal yesterday.

Things can change quickly. We just need to make sure that if things do change we're in a position to take advantage.

Chelsea and Liverpool will be finished before we play our next game (after tonight), we'll know exactly where we stand then.

Depends on how bent the ref is.

Chelsea are a better side than Liverpool imho. We should have beaten the Victims, and it was only shocking refereeing and uncharacteristic errors from an unfit Vinny that prevented us from doing so. And I'd say Chelsea are almost as good as us, and in some ways better. They have a better defence than us for one. iF they can get through the initial 30 minute onslaught from the Victims, there's no reason they can't go on to win it.

I'd say it's 50-50. One caveat is whether Hazard is fit. Without him, it will be a lot tougher.

I am hoping for a chelsea win against the dippers......we know liverpool will go at them like they did against us looking to score as many as possible in the first 30mins

the longer it goes without them scoring they will start to brick it

Chelsea and Liverpool are different teams, but the odds swing big time in favour of Liverpool based on:
- Playing at Anfield with a rabidly raucous crowd
- Huge momentum from winning streak (vs Chelsea very patchy form over past month)
- Chelsea sandwiched between CL first and second leg.

chelsea rarely capulate to an early onslaught. in the 2nd half of this season, liverpool have relied on an early highly charged pace and throw everything at the opposition for the first 30 minutes. It is impossible to sustain that all out energy which has been shown time and time again that teams can get back into the game. I really doubt that Jose will let that happen. Their defence is reasonably solid and it is exactly the time of game that he can out-tactic the opposition.

Of course, the dippers being at home will have the 12th man element, but for me it is a 50/50 either way and fancy a draw. But whether that will be enough, who knows.

Can't see Chelsea getting anything at Liverpool, Mourinho is good at draws but that isn't good enough for us and is a wasted effort for them. If they get a decent result at Athletico then why will Mourinho risk his players for a pointless cause.

chelsea is still very much in the driver seat in the league if they take their chance. Winning all their three games would put them hoping for liverpol to get at leaat a draw in their other 2 games. Winning 3 on the trot is easier than 5.

Although newcastle is a certain 3 points, football can be an unforgiving sport that one still hope a sending off or penalty against liverpool in the newcastle game is possible and maureen will hope for this. Evermore so being the final game when newcastle can just lose all aggressive inhibitions and play free flowing football to close their season on a high.

For us, if liverpool do lose to chelsea, they would have to score 8 goals in the other two games, because assuming we win our 5 games, the minimal goals for is +5, one for each game.

liverpool needs to lose at least once. chelsea has the quality but newcastle I hope can drum up a QPR kind of fight with added discipline.
