Chelsea (H) | Post-Match Thread

Agree our penalty taking is poor, but more likely to have scored it based on law of probability. Main point for me is that we’ve seen Chelsea in their favoured formation with their 15 man squad over 2 matches and they scraped 2 wins & they have no idea how they react when faced with our normal play. Tuchel can watch a video, but it isn’t the same.
Give us your stats then on missed penalties by type then please

Gundo was on the field at that For a couple of months after Christmas Cancelo was brilliant but seems to have gone back to last season's form. Torres although he has scored goals gives me strong Albert Riera vibes.
Bit too weak physically when it comes to the crunch for me. Both of them.

Dead right, we're playing catch-up now. They certainly have the advantage over us for the CL. Which is 3 weeks away, why he didn't play our best team tonight and bury them, I don't know what his thinking is all about. Hope he doesn't let us down on the big one.
Didn't realise today's game was the first leg of the CL final.

Zack Steffen on Ederson: "I would say yeah he is the best penalty taker at Man City because he kicks so damn hard – there's no way a keeper could react to it. He kicks so hard, so fast, it's insane. It's insane, nobody knows how he does it."

Still find it strange that Pep does not give him the job. Then again, still trust Pep 100% so assume he must have a good reason.

Plain and simple if he does miss and its saved or hits the post, chances are we are going to concede unless you stick a couple of men on the line which in turn plays every fucker onside from the counter.

But so many of Sergio's goals have come from the immense power he gets in his shots. If he blasts one right in the corner the keeper has no chance. Why try to be clever?

I hope Tuchel and his players think the same

Is the Riera reference good or bad? Personally, I see a lot of potential in Torres and I think we’ll start to see what he can do next season.

I can’t figure Cancelo out at all. In his first season he was distinctly average. For ten or so games this season he was brilliant but for the last half dozen games he has been terrible. I don’t think he’s a good full back. I think he might be a decent midfielder but thats not what we need from him.
