The thing with football is that it’s not just about what happens on the pitch, it’s also behind the scenes and keeping everyone happy.

We’ve got a large squad and keeping everyone happy is just as important as getting things right on the pitch.

Those who didn’t play on Tuesday mostly got game time and a chance to win a league title, and truth be told, they probably would have pulled it off if it wasn’t for Aguero missing that pen.

It’s not all about tactics and ‘getting it right’. Pep would have known the risks going into the game but knows full well if it doesn’t come off then we have chances to put it right - which we 100% will do.

If we lift that CL trophy in May, sealing a treble, then absolutely no one will give a single shit what happened in that Chelsea game and that’s why there’s no point in going over the top about it.

Try telling that to Devon Lock & ManUre in 2012. Stranger things have been known to happen. Agreed, highly unlikely, but until we win our next game, or ManUre lose their next game, it's a possibility no matter how remote.

How's that for a bigger picture? We should deal with what's in front of us, & the future will take care of itself. I learned this to my bitter cost many years ago, so my take on this is based on personal experience.

That's not to say we won't sweep up everything in front of us regardless, but why take chances.

PS: In terms of 'The bigger picture', what 'bigger picture' is this? :-|

That's up for debate too be honest, Martin Samuel did a good piece on Sunday on this.
Pep didn't want to show his hand for the final , I totally understand that but he's too smart for his own good at times.

As well as a post count on here, I think there should be a games attended count, or a season card holder annotation; I’ve a strong feeling that some of the more frequent and contentious posters would not have big numbers in that column - I am a lot more interested in match goers, Mancunians and exiled Mancs thoughts and insights on City.

Just don't get the full logic of his thinking, 1 game away from winning the league, surely pick the best team win the league, then rest. 9 changes, Ake and Mendy in and no midfield, it was carnage at times then you get Aguero arguing with Raz and then trying a party trick. Pep didn't try and be smart, he is smart. Neither you nor I know exactly how much PSG took out of those players physically or mentally. He does, if he thinks they needed time off to recover , to prevent ant undue stress on muscles and minds then that's good enough for me. None of us are in any position to question his information or thoughts on those players.

I am still annoyed about the 2 pens. Kun’s was truly awful and the one that was not given, especially after the rags one yesterday, was a clear example of bias against us. 2-0 it’s over, and I think 2-1 (on the off chance we score it) we do not lose that game
