It's shit to lose by that much but it was always on the cards with our weakened team.
Still good to see the youngsters, thought they were great, maybe hoped for a bit more from Celina and Barker.
Senior players left a bit to be desired, don't think any would be motm which says something.
Caballero does have some terrible mistakes in him, but he did make two great saves and I'll respect if he plays the final.
Shame the quad is off, yes I'm a dreamer, treble still pretty good!

WARNING - Any more posts calling the manager of Manchester City an "old ****" (or similar) will be deleted, as will any quoting said posts. Criticise if you like, but disrespecting the manager like that is unacceptable, and may lead to a ban.

Thanks.
The same applies to "just fuck off" posts. If you want to comment do it constructively or follow your own advise.

And there is the truth, couldn't agree more

TBF the club threw the match.

I'm sure those above Pellers also gave more priority to the CL and COC games.

Regardless if it was Barca or not who leaked the sacking of Mancini to the Media, the timing of the sacking before the FA Cup Final by those running the club was an absolute disaster.

It seem's even though we have little or no chance of winning the CL, our owners are hell bent on getting us as far as we can in the competition, regardless of what has to be sacrificed.

To be fair I was gutted when I knew it was going to be on at 4 on the sunday, I wrote the game of then so im not so disappointed tonight, and lets face it do you in all honestly think this FA would let us win everything ? if it looked like we was going to I think we would see a lot more strange decisions against us, not that I think the FA are bent :)

You should be ashamed for using the word bent and the FA in the same sentence....you must kneel before a portrait of Bert Millichip and beg for forgiveness.

Disappointed how the match panned out but not surprised.

Feel sorry for some of the young lads. We started with 6 teenagers which meant our senior pros really had to lead. Unfortunately Willy, Demichelis were awful and Kolarov was pretty poor, Fernando was ok but pretty immobile. It's a shame that the seniors that started, Zabaleta apart, weren't good enough to provide a strong spine to the side.

Our formation was always going to cause us problems. Neither Manu or Celina are natural wide men so while we defended narrowly we lacked width to give us an out ball. As result we were unable to get out and move up the park.

Faupala worked hard but I wonder about his passing, a few times he messed up simple passes in dangerous areas.

Kelechi struggled to get into the game but looked a class apart from the other kids.

Aleix Garcia started well but tired but also suffered from a lack of consistent options.

Manu Garcia is never a wide man but looked much better 2nd half infield. He needs to strengthen a bit but he has great vision.

Celina never got into the match which was a shame.

Tosin was excellent his distribution was a little dodgy but it didn't help that he had very little outlets.

All in all the time young players were let down by the senior pros.

I know mate, but so disappointing the more it sinks in

I've seen plenty full strength City teams go to Stamford Bridge and still lose mate.
I'm not going to go over points already raised by other posters, we've got bigger fish to fry and a thin squad.

I know mate, like I said it hurts to see us go down like that,I'll be ok tomorrow.................................hopefully

Martin Samuel has brutally described the game and the clubs transfer policy of late.

I liked this paragraph

"A good working relationship with director of football Txiki Begeristain is meant to be one of the reasons Pep Guardiola is coming to Manchester City next season. That may be challenged when Guardiola sees what he has been left to work with at his new home. "

Yeah, because Guardiola's a footballing idiot who won't have carried out due diligence and hasn't a clue who's on City's payroll.

The kids were let down by senior pros who looked like they'd decided we'd lost before the game. There were a few of those kids I wouldn't mind seeing more game time towards the end of the season.
the way its going you will get your wish to see more of the kids cos there will be sod all to play for

I'll be impressed when he realises that we've had Richard Wright in our team for 4 years though he hasn't played a game.

We have played far stronger players in a 4-4-2 formation against teams a lot weaker than Chelsea and been turned over.

We have also been out played by Chelsea at the Etihad whilst playing 4-4-2 in recent seasons.

We destroyed them earlier in the season playing 4-2-3-1 so why the hell line our lads up against them in a 4-4-2?

I partly understand the reason for playing the kids. I don't agree with it, but I get it. However, the FA cup was a winnable competition. Kiev is also a two-legged match. If we were to get heavily beaten by a team of Kiev's calibre in any leg then what chance have we got against a top European side? We could have easily played a stronger side today and at least tried to progress.

I'm all in favour of giving the likes of Dave, Kun, Vinny, Yaya and Otamendi a rest. They have all played loads of games or are recovering from an injury. But there is no reason why Sterling and Clichy should not have started. They have both been on the bench a lot recently.

The only people we are harming by throwing this competition is ourselves.

I can honestly say I have never been more ashamed of city than today. The starting line up
was a fucking disgrace this is the FA cup the worlds greatest club competition and we treated
it with utter contempt. I can honestly say I never ever thought we would ever do what we did today.
Those responsible need to hang there heads in shame and nothing less than a full refund for our
away support today.

You do realise that Richard Wright is also there a goal keeper coach/mentor ? I'm sure Pep will be delighted that we have someone with international experience in that sort of role.

Can't see the Beeb or the FA coughing up to be honest.
