Chelsea thread 2012/2013 season

Re: Chelsea Title Chances

Havent heard anything, but if they have/will, it will just make it all the more satisfying reclaiming our trophy.

Re: Chelsea Title Chances

They've bought young but not cheap. Risky business but if those players come good they could be settled for some nice time on few positions.

And they were ruthless on the market, except Moses who took some time with Wigan trying to take few more quids, it was pretty much - silence, bam-bam, done. We could definitely do with Abramovich on Marwood's place, lol.

Re: Chelsea Title Chances

I hope we see Terry and Luiz pairing together at the back a lot this season, Terry isn't what he once was and Luiz is fucking dreadful. Cahill has been their best centre back recently, I'd also wager Ivanovic could do better than the first two mentioned now too.

As we've seen with us and Atletico Madrid, a team with a competent set up and a good attack will kill them off.

Re: Chelsea Title Chances

I think they are frightening and much better than the Scum.

They have rebuit entirely in one fail swoop and anyone who thinks that Cashley, Fat Frank, Ladyboy and the Bastard have nothing left to offer are seriously deluded.

Finish above the Chavs and we retain our Title.

Re: Chelsea Title Chances

Chelsea will continue to struggle because both Frank and Mikel cannot play at the same time as each basically do the same thing on the pitch. They need a true(or younger) #8.
Why play Bertrand on the left? he offers no real threat going forward. Ramires is being wasted on the right. I remember him playing DM brazil for WC2010(i think) and he was fantastic there.

*Sturridge should leave Chelsea and go to team like Liverpool where he'll have a manager like B. Rogers to teach the tactical side of the game. All i see right now is a supremely talented attacking player with tactical intelligence.
*McEchran should leave too. he'll never get his chance at Chelsea.

Re: Chelsea Title Chances

They were horrendous against Atletico Madrid, and their team will need some time to learn to play together with so many new players so I doubt they'll win the title. I think they'll be more like the us of last season, probably within touching distance for a few months and then they'll fall back.

Except they only have one striker who has regularly played in the middle and that's Torres. That would be fine if you had other options but to count on him to win you the title is a bit far fetched. It can't be good if your team's title hopes rest on Torres not having a bad spell. Sturridge has only ever played on the wing for them and is unbelievably selfish and won't interchange with their players who can pass.

Teams that win the title usually have a deep and strong squad, especially strikers.

It seems to me they have an indiscriminate transfer strategy . Like a six year old in a sweet factory.
What does an "indiscriminate transfer strategy" mean?

Ah. That makes sense.

-- Sun Sep 02, 2012 10:35 am --

Chelsea title challenge? Are you serious? Didnt you see what Pathetico did to them?

If you read what I wrote when I started this conversation, I'm just talking about why anyone could believe they'd win the league giving performances like against us and Athletico.
