Mourinho's ego has tripped him up with his declaration that Rooney is his club's only transfer target.

Man Utd can't sell Rooney to Chelsea - unless they make a stupid bid, and Rooney really rocks the boat - so what options then for CFC?

They have to buy a striker...and Rooney may not be possible.

I know they can go elsewhere but then Mourinho has said it's Roo or bust.

to be honest, they don't really have other choices at the moment.

They were priced out of moves for Falcao and Cavani and after rooney there is not much left in terms of top level striking talent.

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, 31, has warned Manchester City that spending big will not guarantee trophies.

Lol this coming from Chelsea of all teams

He never learns does he! Tell ya what he is getting boring slagging city off. How many goals our lads scored with him in net?

Go home Cech you're drunk.

Watching Chelsea play Malaysia XI

CFC 2-0 up but just had a player stretchered off.

When specifically asked about the spending of our league rivals this summer:

"Money has never won anything. You can spend as much as you want but you must build a team first.

Yes, City have huge competition for every place.
“They have a new manager, new expectations and new motivations.
“And if they build a team they will be a tough opponent and rival for us in the Champions League and for the Premier League title. But so will Manchester United.
“So will Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool.

Stop feeding the gutter press.

Reckon we'll line up with:
Cech
Ivan-Kalas-Luiz-Cole
Rami-Lampard
Mata-Hazard-Schürrle
Torres

Mata will probably be put on the right because Mourinho likes to play with wrong footed wingers I expect Lamps wont be a starter for the majority of the season maybe cups only probably a signing to fill that space... De rossi? reckon Ba will move on leaving Lukaku, Torres and someone maybe Rooney or Higuain?

Who's Kalas? I fear Chelsov a lot more than the rags this season.

so many good young players at chelsea at the mo, De bruyne, lukaka, chabaloh ?? having watched the match today i still think Mcheachran could still make it and should be like what wilshire is to arsenal

Kalas is a young CB we've had on loan at Vitesse for the last two years. He's had great reviews in Holland and been one of their key players during his time there. He's finally been granted a permit and Mourinho says he'll be in our first team squad this season. I doubt he'd be starting in a full strength side though.
