Kevin De Bruyne to Wolfsberg £18m
Have i missed something? What did Pellegrini say about the Mata deal?

He was asked about Wengers "it's not fair" comments in his press conference and basically agreed with him.

He said that players shouldn't be able to move to clubs in the same division half way throught he season.

Got a point really.

Clubs should only be able to buy before the season, after that they should have to make do with the squad they've chosen, up to the managers to coach the best out of their squads.

Would probably see less managers sacked during the season too as a new manager wouldn't be able to bring in all new faces in the window.

Doubt Pellegrini is particularly worried about Chelsea selling Mata to the Rags. We can still beat the rags. Chelsea have lost a quality player, one that fits into their style of play. Mourinho likes to buy his own players though as we all know.

Joes seems to have a smug grin on his face, at this press conference, almost like mission achieved...he's sold a bench player for a fortune and managed to ruffle wenger and pellegrinis feathers while he's at it

Spot on first Wenger embarrasses himself with silly comments then more surprisingly Pelligrini followed suit, which I'm sure Jose will enjoy.

Chelsea have just sold 2 players that don't directly figure in Jose's plans for almost £60m, bought a quality defensive midfielder in Matic which was badly needed and a young highly rated winger in Salah and still has £30 odd million to put towards a striker.

Sad to see Mata go but absolute superb business by Jose and Chelsea.

Yes letting a player go in part of a swap deal then spending £20 million buying him back is great business.

One injury to either Hazard or Oscar and this will come back and bite you on the arse, can't fucking wait, Mourinho is whoring himself for that scum job more each week and if Moyes getsd sacked at the end of the season Maureen will be there like a rat up the proverbial fucking drain pipe.

Players slipped the net all the time at every club, Matic developed into one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe and we've bought him back. All relative anyway as Luiz was £21m with Bayern and Barca sniffing we're looking at £30-35m if/when he goes, which I suspect he might in the summer.

If Oscar/Hazard get injured we have Schurrle and Salah that can come in and do a job, not to mention Ramires and Lampard who can also play attacking mid.

Not sure what is with Mancs and their Jose obsession but there is no way, short of us sacking him, that Jose will go to United not a chance.

Chelsea dun really need the money though and now they have strengthened a rival. Maybe the rags will not challenge this season , but what about next season and the next etc. I would have thought the best option is for Chelsea to keep him until the summer and then sell him to a overseas team. It's not like his contract his expiring like RvP's case. If they get Rooney then it would be a reasonable move but this is just bloody dumb

It's a point that should be raised with UEFA and scrap the Winter window if that's what's agreed. Wengers point was more to do with the fact that as Chelsea had already played United twice it was unfair us selling them a good player who can play against them.

UTD will be a completely different animal with Rooney, RVP and Mata all in the same team. Not only are they quality players, they would also lift the average players around them. In football anything can happen, and with a front 3 like that, they could beat anyone.

Of course we need the money, every team (nearly) needs the money. United were desperate and willing to pay top dollar then that suits Chelsea.

Mata won't turn them around alone they need a major overhaul, Chelsea have benefited from Uniteds desperation to the tune £40m for what was a squad player,

Someone has got to get the ball to them first, and with Carrick out thats going to fall on the shoulders of Cleverly, Jones Valencia.

It's a panic buy, one that says look we're ok we can still compete.

Smacks of desperation.

Also how many players do the want to play in the hole? a tactic they don't even use.

Of course they could beat anyone BUT will they, doubt it with that midfield and defence.
