Chelsea Thread 2014/15

Chelsea will, without doubt, be your major challengers this season.

Mourinho now has the squad he wanted last season. Matic will be ready after a dozen or so appearances and Fabregas already knows the Premier League. Diego Costa is the "unknown quantity" here, however I have a funny feeling he will hit the ground running. Especially with the likes of Fabregas, Hazard, Oscar & Willian feeding him.

I still think they need a CB as I'm not sure Terry will be able to handle another full season as the ever dependant, but if they can manage it, they then have Zouma for the season after who will be another year more experienced.

Cech
Azpilicueta - Cahill - Terry - Filipe Luis
Fabregas - Matic
Willian - Oscar - Hazard
Diego Costa

Decent eleven that. Could even move Fabregas further forward, shift Oscar to the right, and put Ramires in the middle in place of Willian.

It's going to be a cracking Premier League this.

Grand squad indeed, and I envy your AM depth, but if you put that 11 out against City the central midfield will be bulldozed and Jose will act accordingly.

If you replace Fabregas with Ramires, I'm pretty sure that's the midfield the lined up with in both the league games with you last season where they came away with 6pts (although Matic may not have been there for the one at Stamford Bridge).

BTW I am not a Chelsea fan ;-)

Going to be very reliant on Costa.

The other 2 forwards Torres and Drogba may struggle. Hazard, Schurrle and Fabregas will probably weigh in with quite a few goals, but they look very exposed if Costa gets injured (or suspended given his "style")

Been a while since I've visited here!

It unfortunately looks like we can't get rid of Torres despite Atletico Madrid flirting with the idea, and I can't see us bringing in another striker while he's here. Fortunately Costa has looked fantastic in the two friendly games he's played so far. He's fast, he's strong, his movement is excellent and he has a ferocious shot. He opens up so much space for our AM's, I can't wait to see how it works with Hazard, not to mention how Hazard works with Fabregas feeding from midfield. But we're one injury to Costa away from Torres induced impotency.

Otherwise I'm very happy with our business this summer. We've addressed all our issues and our team is looking formidable. I have a feeling we're not quite done yet, Jose does like to bullshit, but I'm delighted with how the squad is looking so far. Finally, finally have a fucking competent striker.

Not sure why you are being so melodramatic, as you had competent strikers last season. Maybe if your manager's tactics were not based on 'sit back, give it to Hazard and if that fails try and nick one from a set piece', then maybe the strikers would have had a better opportunity to perform.

No, we didn't. We had a passed it Eto'o, Torres speaks for himself and Ba. We haven't had a reliable striker since Drogba left. We easily had the worst strike force in the top 6.

I believe you are confusing 'currently world class' with 'competent'. Drogba was far more than 'competent'.

Castiel , I like you posting on BM and appreciate the Chelsea angle but formidable is too strong a word.

Do not make the mistake of listening to the various media outlets assuming we have bought fuck all because we have gone under the radar this summer.

We knew where we needed to strengthen and when Mangala signs we are complete.
Without the ball you were the best team in the country last season (as always with JM) and when we saw Matic in February we could all see your power. We have Fernando this season and coupled with Fernandhino and Yaya I would not swap. Fernando is top notch as you will see.

Our spine is so strong although there is a only a midges between our squads either way.

However , our goal scoring is much better than yours and I expect this to continue.

Head to head you got lucky last year at your place and you were fortunate to play us at the right time at the Etihad.

I like Chelsea and if we cannot win it , I hope you do but we will take some shifting fella.
