to be fair its probably half the price since they are selling courtois for half that fee and he is a good young keeper that madrid wanted and almost got in jan if not for zidanes insistence to not rock the boat with navas.

still it id definitely a panic buy after courtois decided to go awol. a dick move by the way.

Which is why I said I don't expect Chelsea to reach it.

Then there are Alonso, Fabregas, Azpi, Morata and Pedro (all of whom played vs City) all of whom are ill-suited to Sarry's football for different reasons.

Fabregas & Pedro both played it for years.

Kepa, Fekir, Zaha and Kovacic are the right sort of signings that Chelsea should be making. Only issues is goals. Morata doesn't do it.

this season gonna be crucial for him. first season he might be struggling due to adapting from a foreign league but no excuses this time. i think defensively they are not as good as before. if kante is out for a long time they will struggle badly

You get Zaha and keep Hazard Chelsea will finish top and push for trophies Zaha scared city to death last season.

That was John Moss. Walker had him in his pocket, so he switched wings and fell over more often until Moss gave him a penalty.

There's a difference between doing it as well as Guardiola & now City do it, & merely doing it well.

Chelsea should already have the players imo, to do it very well. Actually that would be if Jorginho was as good as I thought he was, but I don't think he is.

Hard to judge on just one game. Don't forget at Napoli he had a lot of energetic runners to pick and pass to.
This Chelsea side has looked lethargic, last season, even when fully fit.

I said there is a difference between a team doing it like City now do & a team merely doing it well.

Imo it should not be difficult for a squad of Chelsea's quality to quickly learn it to a decent standard. Half played for Barca, Real Madrid, Napoli & Brazil for a start.
