This thread shows the boom and bust culture of modern football. One minute boat loads of optimism and the next minute impending doom...
Roman should give Frank time. He has some really good players there now and we have seen how it takes time for players to get used to the PL and, let's face it, he has quite a large number just starting out.
Flat out terrible is pushing it, they finished 3rd and won the europa league under Sarri.I guess with respect to the prevailing narrative that Lampard is on his way out I have two thoughts:
(1) Did Chelsea fans really expect to compete for the title because of 200M? The squad was flat out terrible when he arrived. Signings are nice but that much fresh blood at once was always going to misfire.
(2) Will appointing a new manager really lead to a better season outcome for them? I know its hectic and tight etc but I just don't see them knocking off the current top 5 unless Liverpool well and truly collapse. Maybe they'd pip a Europa spot, I guess.
Why not ride it out like Arsenal has with Arteta? He managed to turn it around.
I was thinking about that, but I stand by "terrible" because they sold Hazard after the EL win.Flat out terrible is pushing it, they finished 3rd and won the europa league under Sarri.
Rumour has it they have lined up Ole - after all he has taken his bungling bunch to the top of the table. Imagine what he could do with decent players --------------------------------- yeah rightWho would be in the running to replace Frank? - don't Chelsea normally have a successor lined up before giving their current manager the bullet?
Way I see it, the squad and Lampard badly needed a long pre-season for the space and time to gel. Since Lampard didn't get it, it will always gonna be a highly difficult task for a manager.I guess with respect to the prevailing narrative that Lampard is on his way out I have two thoughts:

he's far from turned it round, they will still be lucky to finish in the top 8I guess with respect to the prevailing narrative that Lampard is on his way out I have two thoughts:

My Chelsea supporting mate at work says there are rumours of Avram Grant returning to help out.Who would be in the running to replace Frank? - don't Chelsea normally have a successor lined up before giving their current manager the bullet?
