For 20 years the morally bankrupt premier league took Romans money and now all of a sudden it is dirty. The premier league is a cesspit. Chelsea should not be punished.

I guess the Rags/Scousers/Spurs/Arse have written a letter and see an opportunity to reclaim a position in the league. Who put master in charge? Stinks.

Roman is a dubious character but his actions should not be dumped the club imo.

This isn’t the Premier League’s action; it comes from the government.

All billionaires, who support Putin, and that includes Abramovich, should have all their assets frozen until Russia withdraws unilaterally from Ukraine.

It's unfortunate for Chelsea FC and its supporters that they are being affected in this situation that is an unfortunate consequence (for them) of this unnecessary war.

My thoughts exactly - I was open mouthed hearing him - bet just after his morning prayers he recalls how that "moral" ownership and enriched the owners at his expense and won them fuck all except the " Manager Who Hung Around Too Long " trophy

It seems like tens of thousands of people (and the club itself) is being harmed when the sole target is his assets?!

I could understand it if he was trying to hang on for dear life and wanted his £1.5Bn “investment loan” back, but he’s written it off already!

This all looks and smells like the League KNEW the club was built on murderous corrupt money and now they’ve suddenly got a conscience and decided to do something about it?!

I couldn’t give a fuck about Chelsea or their fans, but it does seem a bit unseemly too me, given the piling on.

Legally and financially amputate Abramovich from the club, have an arbitrator take over the sale of the club, and have the League/Govt determine who reaps the “reward” of the purchase instead of the Oligarch.

He hasn't though, written it off or waived his debt, or shed the club as an asset.

Tweeting it, and doing it are completely different things.


That would though be the best outcome for Chelsea. Wipe their debt, get a new owner spending not that much on the sale, and invest big while it is all new and confusing for ffp and everyone

The Premier has now decided that Saudi money is not as dirty as Russian. They will take it until world politics dictate a change down the line. The premier is run no different than a loan shark.

The government has no right dictating morals to anyone. Party gate, bullying, Russian money etc. Maybe it’s time for a change at the top. Fuck them all off and sanction each individual member of parliament.

Why should anyone be asking questions about that ?
Many countries still have the death penalty including the U.S.
If you read off topic after a child murderer is found guilty most would act as hang man.
The only question for Saudi is did they receive a fair trial, all the answers seem to be, yes they did.

It’s all of a sudden dirty because all of a sudden Putin (who Abramovic and his money has been proven to be close to) has invaded Ukraine. Abramovic is funding part of the invasion.

You can’t treat things that are being frozen differently. Whether it’s a yacht, a home, a factory, a supermarket, an online shop, or a football club. Assets are frozen and they are all treated in the same way.

Just because Chelsea is a football club that has fans, it doesn’t mean it’s not just a thing he owned and the things he owned in this country have been frozen therefore Chelsea have been frozen.

When a business asset is frozen, it cannot deal with any economic resources in any way.

I and others have explained this many times across about four or more different threads and it’s still not being taken on board (this isn’t aimed at you, your post just happens to be the one I quoted) …

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could lead to being a direct threat to us. It could engage us in war. It could lead to World War 3 which we will be part of as opposers to Russia.

No other wars or instances of atrocities that are going on now or that anyone can pull up from the past have anything to do with this current situation in Ukraine and none of them are a direct threat to us and none of them will lead to World War 3 or anything that we will be part of.

Russian assets are being frozen - as well as other things we are trying to cripple Russia with from pulling our businesses out of Russia to expulsion from SWIFT to stopping buying oil and gas from them (among many other things) - because we are exploring all avenues that may slow down their current plans. We are trying to put pressure on from within (dissent, protests, strikes, oligarchs saying “enough is ebough”), and we are trying to cripple them financially (so they can’t afford the invasion long term and so they can’t pursue further invasions, especially into NATO countries… also so it creates more pressure from within).

This is a tactic, it’s not about morals.

To those knowledgeable about FFP....

Abrahamovich 'loaned' money to Chelsea, amounting to a reported £1.5bn. It turns out this is now a gift as he will not be asking for this back. If this is the case, should this not be considered as the owner injecting funds into the club? Thus, surely meaning they would have failed FFP for multiple seasons.

I do hope City look into this and maybe our board could write to the PL and UEFA asking for an investigation? After all, Chelsea are one of the hateful eight.

Saudi Arabia executed 81 murderers, rapists, arms smugglers and terrorists (from Al-Qaeda, ISIS and Houthis) yesterday because they have the death penalty.

They could have been spread across 81 different days and it wouldn’t be news, but they decided to do it on one day as a warning that “The kingdom will continue to take a strict and unwavering stance against terrorism and extremist ideologies that threaten the stability of the entire world.”
