Purely in terms of football ownership, ignoring all the poltical stuff, you'd be hard pressed to find better football owners out there.
He’s been right up there but ours are definitely the best.

On top of player recruitment, the infrastructure in terms of people running the club is 2nd to none. Then add the fact the planning to get Pep. Then add to that the social houses built. Then add to that the college built. Then add the stadium upgrade, City square etc. And then, the world’s biggest football academy literally over the road from the stadium.

I don’t usually like saying we have the best this, best that, as it’s Scouse-like but I cannot with how good our owner has been. We’re the luckiest fans in the world.

That said, recent politics aside, I’d love Abramovich too if I was Chelsea

Seriously? Ignoring the first team for now, you should take a trip "oop north" and see how HRH has regenerated a (let's be honest here) pretty grim/shitty* part of Manchester. I seriously doubt that Abramovich has done anywhere near the same around your neighbourhood. The difference in the area around the stadium compared to may 2008 is incredible.

*delete as per your preference. Listing the things your owners have done for City isn't relevant when the only thing of concern to Chelsea fans is what Roman did for Chelsea.

If Roman was allowed to develop the area around the Bridge, pretty sure he would have done so, but it wasn't a grim/shitty area and he had no permission to do anything apart from the land Chelsea already owned.

I don't begrudge you saying your owners are the best, but I find it a bit odd that you're surprised that Chelsea fans think Roman is the best.

As far as football owners go, I honestly cannot say a bad word about Roman. He's been incredible. I see what you're saying the City owners though. They're been incredible for you lot.

Probably not, but would they need to? They are getting a vastly different football club than the one Abramovich took over 20 years ago. They just need to run the club smarter and more efficiently to build on what Abramovich has already created.

The way Roman spent came with a lot of wasted resources. My hope is that we limit those expensive transfer mistakes and move forward in a different way completely, and Boehly has often spoken about how sports data and analytics is crucial to putting the best team on the pitch. That's a good enough selling point for me.
With this kind of owners (Wall Street type investment/speculative shareholding consortia, ...),I cannot see beyond the business aspect.

Do you really think Kensington is in need of the sort of redevelopment that East Manchester was?

Abramovich was a brilliant owner. The problem was that he had to keep putting cash in as they were paying out more than they were getting in. I'm not sure the new owners will be as accommodating.

If you ever come up to City, go look at the academy over the road. It’s the most state of the art and biggest academy in world football.

Abramovich has overseen your golden age on the pitch but don’t think he matches ours off it but that’s not a dig at Chelsea, noones owners have built around the stadium like ours.

I'd say Roman hasn't really had to redevelop areas around Chelsea the same way City had to for that part of Manchester, but he has transformed the training facilities to a state of the art facilities.

It's fair enough that you think your owners are the best. I'm just saying the fact Chelsea fans disagree and think Roman is the best shouldn't come as a surprise.

Fair comments. But I still think he's been a far better owner for us than Abramovich was for Chelsea. Of course, I am biased.

Well the 4.25bn is essentially 2.5bn for the club purchase and 1.75bn earmarked for investment in the various Chelsea teams and redevelopment of the Bridge. I'd say it could have been a helluva lot worse as far as American owners go. We'll likely spend in excess of £200m this summer alone, so we'll see. It'll be interesting to see where Boehly and the rest of the ownership want the club to go. I see no reason not to be optimistic at this point though.

That’s true but then again, the academy technically didn’t need to to be built, it was done so as an investment and reports say even Messi was walking round it with Argentina with his mouth wide open.

It’s not a surprise no, football fans are loyal to what they see as their own. Although even my Rag mates say we won the lottery of lotteries with Sheikh Mansour.
