That is lucky, and it was well earned luck. It is luck the performance deserved. It would have been a travesty if that game ended up 0-0 (not for me of course, I'd have been buzzing, but generally speaking).

I didn't intend to harp on about the deflected goal so much, but I also didn't expect someone to be so fixated on what I think is or isn't lucky.

you make it seem like we won with a lucky deflection wich is not the case. you were only allowed to get out of ur shell after we managed to score. you dont know if Jesus would have scored or not if there was no deflection, as you dont know if we wouldnt have scored if that goal didnt go in. You were outplayed completley in that one game, to make it seem like you lost because of a deflection is pretty hilarious but you do you.

Chelsea getting the job done against a team that looked to have our number a few weeks back. This is why they'll be a huge threat this season, they cn just power through these kind of sides and don't need to be on top form to do so.

In fairness I only watch Chelsea when they are playing City but I’ve seen us play 4 times since Touchel was appointed and the approach had been consistent. The football Chelsea played prior to going 1 down on Saturday was anything but attacking , it was classic park the bus and try for quick counters by hoofing it up to Lukaku or Werner supported by runners from the block. It worked for you 3 times at the end of last season it did not work on Saturday and in truth we should have scored at least 3 possibly 4.
If your happy with it though that’s fine but it’s not Pep’s philosophy which is attacking

If I didn’t know better, that Chelsea performance last Saturday was right out of the PEG book of defensive displays, it was that negative.

Its pretty obvious mate what the Chelsea fan is saying which is that City murdered them but nonetheless the goal had a bit of luck about it. That doesn't mean we were lucky to win and neither does it mean it would have stayed 0-0 if Gabriel had not scored.
As for Chelsea, this ended up a good result for them after a hard week v us and away to Juve. They still needed a bit of luck though!
 
Are they going to fade over the course of the season? They seem so well-poised to win a lot of matches 1-0.

Last season they tailed off somewhat at the very end of the season (they barely made top 4 in the end after looking good for it when they beat us at the Etihad).



We'll learn a lot about them through the winter once the fixtures begin to pile up a bit. If they get through that unscathed then we'd have something to be concerned about.
