Christ. I'm not having a dig at City here, so let's not act like saying a deflected goal is a bit lucky is some kind of insult to City. You obviously deserved to win the game by way more than 1-0, but luck is part of the game. It's okay to acknowledge it when you benefit from it.

But what's the point you are making? We won the game. We deserved to win the game. End of.

I've explained the point over and over. I don't understand what's so controversial about saying a deflected goal was a bit lucky. It's a fairly benign and harmless opinion. I said in the very post you quoted that City deserved to win. I said in other posts that City deserved to win at least 3-0, but for some reason people have latched onto a throwaway comment. Anyway, the game was over 3 weeks ago. It's maybe time to move on? I have no opinions on the game that I haven't already posted :)

Are they going to fade over the course of the season? They seem so well-poised to win a lot of matches 1-0.

For the record, it's our first 1-0 league win of the season. City have had two.

We've scored the same amount of goals as City, despite you having two 5-0 wins.

i'd say you were lucky yesterday with Brentford hitting the post 2 times and having a penalty ignored by the ref because of an offside that never existed

Brentford are going to cause a lot of teams problems. Liverpool struggled massively there too. We struggled to contain them in the last 20 mins. No idea how we didn't concede any goals.

I'd agree we were lucky yesterday. Brentford deserved more out of that game. They've been a brilliant addition to the league.

to be fair, I'd have never picked out Mendy to sign when they were looking for a new keeper. Class. Great scouting.

Kind of win that jammy, defensive teams get when they go on to win the league. Unfortunately for Chelsea, as shown in their games against us and you guys when they should have been beaten twice at Anfield, Liverpool are a protected species this season.
