For the record, it's our first 1-0 league win of the season. City have had two.

We've scored the same amount of goals as City, despite you having two 5-0 wins.

Just saying.
All good points, and thank you for the data. Nothing against 1-0 victories at all. More saying when watching a rival and hoping they lose/draw, the 1-0 is particularly grating and demoralizing. And could see you having quite a few because your defense seems very sound, and you’re capable of getting just a chance or two and making it count...which deeper into the season is sometimes all one can muster.

Yeah that I agree with.

I think Tuchel is still in the process of figuring out how to get the best out of our attacking unit. It's a bit dysfunctional at the moment but to be joint second top scorers despite that is pretty decent. We've gotten superb contributions from the defence in terms of goals. In fact I think the defence has outscored the attack so far.

We have Norwich, Newcastle and Malmo x2 in the next 4 games, so hopefully we can run up the score in a couple of those games.

Pity your lot couldn't produce those numbers when we turned you over the other week..

Too busy parking 10 behind the ball and showing absolutely no ambition to cross the half way line..

Not one shot on target throughout the whole game I seem to recall..

Great CL stats though, see you're ripping it up against the European giants that are Malmö and Zenit..

Good stats but thats mostly from playing Malmo where you had a possession of 72%. Malmo who has conceded 11 goals so far and scored none, probably one of the weakest team in the CL if not the weakest, and Zenit who's not an impressive team either.
It's impressive that you dominated Juventus away but their plan was to park the buss, after all , and got away with the result.

Zenit have won the Russian league the last 4 seasons and on course to win it this season too. Hardly minnows from the arse end of nowhere.

I don't think Juve's plan was to completely cede possession. I think they couldn't get on the ball because we pressed them well. They managed two counter attackers all game and scored from one of them. As an example, we managed about a similar number of counters against City that could have led to golden opportunities but we fluffed our lines when it came to the final pass.

But yeah, point taken. I accept the context you provided. Malmo and Zenit aren't mammoth opponents and that is very relevant but I was only presenting these stats as away to support what I've been saying in general in this thread.

Only a fool reads anything into games against Malmo and Bruges.

At the start of the season I feared this would be Chelsea's season but now I am much more hopeful that City can defend our title partly because City can go up another level when KDB is fit and because Lukaku has not transformed CFC in the way I expected. Now we are reminded why OGS forced Lukaku out of Old Trafford.

I don't really rate Zenit as I dont remember them ever qualifying out of a CL group, theyre Europa League tire club to me.
Will be interesting to see if you manage to top the group and avoid a tough opponent in the round of 16 , as Juventus seems to be back to their winning ways now that they have a competent manager. Looking forward to your game at home to Juve.
How long are Lukaku and Werner going to be out for ?
