Chelsea need to allow a decent manager the time to imbed his philosophy, like Arteta has been allowed at Arsenal. They have trusted the process and despite their recent two draws look the real deal.

A Chelsea team, with strong and stable management would be a formidable prospect.

Just as well they’ll never allow that to happen.

I don’t disagree. I had hoped that man would be Potter but it seemed like he wasn’t quite cut out to manage a big club with huge squad and huge expectations. Enrique would tick most boxes for me. Strong personality, a clear idea of the kind of football he wants to play and experienced in dealing with huge expectations.

I don’t know whether Boehly realises that some of them will be unsaleable except for peanuts. Some will refuse to go if that means a pay cut. They may finish up having to sell some of their better players to balance the books. If that happens, it is the way to the abyss.
Exactly. They may find, as early as this summer, that they have to sell the players other clubs want to buy at the prices they are prepared to pay, rather than the players they want to sell at the prices they want to charge.

I don't know why people think Chelsea will be trying to get premium fees for our deadwood/players we should sell.

These are the estimates I think we could reasonably expect to get;

Ziyech - £10m or less.
Pulisic - £20-30m.
Loftus-Cheek - £15m or less.
Gallagher - £30-40m.
Lukaku - no idea what his market value is now. I doubt we can get more than £30m for him.
Auba - free.
Kovacic - £25-35m
Chalobah (I wouldn't sell him but it wouldn't surprise me) - £20m

People say peanuts as if all of these players will be let for £5m each. I doubt we'll be able to shift all of those players in one summer, some will probably go on loan or hang around for another season but regardless the squad will be trimmed. It's at 33 players, so ideally we should be getting rid of at least 8 players.
