Come on he has only been there two minutes he needs at least next season then the season after too! They put the work in tonight just came up against a team with momentum
I wasnt judging him, just going by some Chelsea fans comments i have heard & they aint impressed

Potter's Brighton were a bit boring but in a way that saw them overperform because they were defensively solid enough to pick up points and sometimes wins despite the low goalscoring output. Potter's Chelsea are just boring.

I know De Zerbi is in the early stages there but I feel that they'll enjoy his football a lot more even if they end up finishing a few positions lower than last season. People are too quick to forget some of the absurdly long winless runs Potter had them suffering.

Yet another horrific performance. That’s like 4-5 in a row in the league now. Lots of work for Potter.
Are The fans behind Potter? I've read that he's struggling to find his best 11 and his best formation and playing players out of position??

I said it time and time again, he isn’t cut for the top level and everyone was overrating him.

Yes, he did well with Brighton, but when things weren’t going smoothly for periods he got such an easy ride compared to other managers and clubs. He also enjoyed deploying his players to kick fuck out of better opposition than his, and because they were ‘plucky Brighton’ they got away with more. Remember the 3-2 we lost against them?

I may well live to eat these comments, but my guess is he will be long gone from Chelsea before he has chance to prove that there. Either that, or he’ll be a Pochettino type.

They are used to instant results when changing manager.

Chelsea need rebuilding from top to bottom and it looks like the owner (front man) is a bit of a tool.

He comes across as a bit too childlike for me: like a kid at Christmas when he turned up at there. He just seemed to want to spend money in order to impress the media and the fans. As if everything was done on a whim - although in all fairness, when it comes to 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' we're all just a whim away.

On the playing side of things, I don't think that's true. There's plenty of pieces in this squad that are fantastic pieces. Chelsea need to get rid of the deadwood (Azpi, Ziyech, Auba etc), the failed flops (Havertz, soon to be Sterling?), the old heads who have been here too long (Jorginho) and the replenish the squad with new fresh young players.

Ideally;

Rice
Caicedo
Nkunku
Leao
A defender (Gvardiol)
Integrate Colwill and Hall.

After that we go again next season, with Potter having had 9 months with this team, a nice preseason, crucial injured players back fit and some good additions in much needed areas plus a couple of academy kids making the step up.

That would be my ideal structuring of the squad in the next two windows.

In terms of the board, that is still being structured and roles are being filled. People are being added all the time. Hopefully by the time this season ends, we'll already have all the pieces we need in place.

I wonder if Havertz being a flop is because he had COVID twice. He hasn't been the same since.

I've given him a very lengthy rope for those reasons, but this is his 3rd season now. I need to start seeing something tangible and consistent from him. I know we paid the £70m mostly for potential, but I had hoped we would some of that potential during his first contract, of which he will have 2 years left after this season.

FFS I ve had to look for this thread, as its buried deeper than a Coventry city one.

Just read, Lukaku is still on the books ???? I spat out my beer in disbelief.

Well that`s my contribution for the season here........ bwahahahaa

That's because City fans do not give a shit about non-rival teams, unless something bad is going on with them. I'm the only one keeping this thread relevant haha.

Yeah sadly, Lukaku was only loaned out. I guess the idea was to loan him back to Italy and let him regain his old Inter form and then con a team into paying good money for his transfer. Sadly he has been injured most of the season and just had an embarrassing showing for the whole world to see in the world cup. The good news is, Inter will have him back for another season loan and then maybe hopefully after that we can flip him for like £40m or something. Kind of a pipe dream at the moment but if everything goes right, that's the best case scenario outcome for Chelsea.

When’s Chelsea’s accounts going to be announced?

No idea. I don't keep up with that stuff. I just see it when it's released. A cursory google search showed me that last year the accounts were published late December.
