That’s not the point, it’s not like the USA where a team like the Dodgers can stick with a manager even if he doesn’t do well because it doesn’t affect Revenue that much. In the Premiership if you fail to get top 4 the club loses significant amounts of money and the ability to attract top players. If Potter starts next season badly you’ll be following the Abramovich model and off he will pop.

Oh sorry, I thought you were taking issue with me saying we won't be anywhere near City. Misread your post, apologies. But yeah I don't think you're wrong. It's a risky move and underpeforming in the league can have big ramifications, so it's all well and good talking about sticking with a manager long term but that's only possible if the manager fulfils the bare minimum of top 4 each season.

Can probably handle one season out of the CL, if we just barely missed out but languishing in 6th miles away from top 4 in points would likely be a tough situation for both Boehly and Potter. Hopefully it won't ever come to that.

Don’t know if Chelsea can afford to miss out on the 60/100m of champs league money there losses in next accounts going to be 200m

I hope so. I'm excited by this appointment, though I feel pretty downbeat about losing Tuchel.

Yeah I get that, but he's not looked that stable recently. Only time will tell if the new owners are any good but Potter is stable if anything.

Harsh imo. Nothing to dislike about him, seems a decent sort to me
He sent his team out to kick us off the park just before the CL final, then last season Potter said before playing us “ he just wants to hug Pep” but Pep was having none of it and rightly so after what went on in 2021, since then iv just not taken to him, just think he’s a slimy twat that’s all my opinion, you think he’s ok that’s fine.
