Chopping a tiny bit of skin may not be to your taste but it is a common practice in many parts of the world . If you don't like it fine, I do not think it should be compulsory just that within many families, cultures and religions it is an acceptable and normal behaviour and to criminalise it will inflict far more damage.

Thankfully I don't come from those families, cultures and religions.

My unborn lad has unfortunately only had one of his kidneys develop in utero, and although he should be able to lead a perfectly normal life with the one kidney (people do it all the time thank fuck), one of the drawbacks is a much higher risk of urinary tract infections as an infant that if not treated, could lead to kidney damage.

Studies have shown that an uncircumcised baby has a far greater risk of developing a UTI as an infant versus a circumcised one, so the little lad will be getting his turtle neck removed relatively shortly after birth as a precautionary measure. Not willing to roll the dice with the one kidney he will have if we can help it.

Hard to say whether we would have done it if not for the kidney situation tbh, I was circumcised and have never given it a seconds thought.

I find it strange that the UK banned the docking of dogs tails because it was deemed cruel and unnecessary, but circumcision is still allowed.
I was circumcised for medical reasons when I was a few months old. My cousin who is a few years older than me and lived with us at the time, has told me more than once that my screams when my mum was washing me will stay with him forever. So it's clearly a distressing and painful experience for the baby.
There are no reasons other than medical necessity to circumcise any child.

Obviously they don't consider themselves mutilated when it's years after the event. It's what they've always known. But the situation years after the event is less significant than what the baby experiences at the time: painful mutilation followed by some sick fuck drinking the blood from the baby's penis. I remember reading a lot about how it takes babies weeks to get over the shock. So no fucking way is it anything like 'painless'.

Circumcision is widely practised for religious health and comfort reasons.
In infants when done properly with local anaesthetic it is virtually painless.

If you wish to ban the practise you will be criminalising a lot of otherwise law abiding people and getting others pissed off. You will drive part of the practice underground which may result in greater pain and mutilation and infection.
Others will have the operation later in life which will result in more complications.

But yes it will mean that some islamophobes can feel all cute and cuddly about themselves on the spurious grounds that they are helping babies.

It doesn't matter how fucking law abiding people are if they allow FGM on their kids they are criminals and should have the book thrown at them.

I'm sure that apart from killing oldies Harold Shipman was a law abiding person. We still prosecuted him.

As a baby having a circumcision is virtually painless as opposed to having it done as an adult. If a religion wishes to have it done I see no more reason to make it illegal than having kids ears pierced. It might not be to my taste

That's fucking stupid. Little girls like earrings. You get them done at the start of the summer holidays so they heal before the start of the school year, and then done. You equate that with chopping up a baby boys dick. You're a fucking moron mate. I'd guess you are circumcised, that's why you're being so vehemently a dick about something which to an infant is blatantly wrong. They don't feel it? Bullshit.
