City 10 Huddersfield Town 1

Riyad Mahrez match prepared 2019 Community Shield 125 Anniversary shirt, outfield players wore a one off designed shirt while the keepers received a more low key design, which were just based on a standard team wear template shirt from Puma with ironed on name & numbers. Mahrez was originally selected to start the fixture but City officials were concerned with a tablet he had been given while away on International duty with Algeria so insisted he be checked by the City medical team before he played again as a precaution. Leroy Sane, who had virtually agreed his move to Bayern Munich replaced him and in true ‘typical City style’ was injured in the first 10 minutes and had to wait a full year before he completed the transfer, the Mahrez test came back completely clear so he could of in fact started the fixture which blues won with a penalty shootout over Liverpool.

What a beautiful thing, totally spoiled with a MacDonalds logo

Love that shirt mate.

I will swap you for my Georgi Kinkladze Magazine, with poster still inside :-)

Two of my favourite games back then was this game against Huddersfield.

And the demolition Derby of the Rags in September 1989.

No one gave us a chance in that game,Rags were spunking money left right and centre on Big signnings.

The build up was people talking about cricket scores in favour of the Rags.

I can still see the young Paul Ince shell shocked face in my Minds Eye.
Remember T-Shirts off back of the Derby
