City 10 Huddersfield Town 1

Very memorable game and it seems mad that ex blue Andy May scored there consolation after ex rag Gidman gave penalty away

Was at the game and the kippax was very sparse yet if you talk to fans now who say they were there we could have filled the Eitihad twice at least.

I was at the game and stood on the Kippax very close to Stevie May.. Andys brother.. He was a decent player in Sunday league..

One of my favourite City games for Two reasons, City scoring 10, but even better my best mate who I went to every game with back then, for some inexplicable reason, said to me "I don't fancy it today mate" after I knocked on his door a couple of hours before KO. His face that night was a picture, it took him about a fortnight to get over it lol.

Vague memories of this one but definitely nowhere near full

Riyad Mahrez match prepared 2019 Community Shield 125 Anniversary shirt, outfield players wore a one off designed shirt while the keepers received a more low key design, which were just based on a standard team wear template shirt from Puma with ironed on name & numbers. Mahrez was originally selected to start the fixture but City officials were concerned with a tablet he had been given while away on International duty with Algeria so insisted he be checked by the City medical team before he played again as a precaution. Leroy Sane, who had virtually agreed his move to Bayern Munich replaced him and in true ‘typical City style’ was injured in the first 10 minutes and had to wait a full year before he completed the transfer, the Mahrez test came back completely clear so he could of in fact started the fixture which blues won with a penalty shootout over Liverpool.

Great post

I purposely missed the game, it was a low point for me, for the first time I had questioned my support of City, my loyalty had been tested, probably the first home game I had missed in 15 to 20 years, but I had had enough. Thank god we won, I was at home and it was like being struck by lightning, I had purposely missed a match which we had won 10-1, that night I went out and sang about a game I hadn't been or seen, it never happened again, to think I could have missed everything that has happed since, that result rescued me, so I will always remember this game for kicking me where I needed Kicking.
Any chance you could stay at home this weekend too? ;-)))

I absolutely hate all reference to that game. Was watching at my girlfriends house at the time, after another episode of mid-match nagging, I decided to end matters with her and at full time promptly put my coat on, said it was over and began to walk home to my student digs.
Have way home in the rain I hear the patter of feet and said girl ‘begging’ me (that’s how I remember it) to stay. I gave in and to cut a long story short married her 2 years later..........

divorced 2 years after that
