City 3 - 1 Barcelona - Post match thread :-)

After watching last night, I'm more convinced than ever that the "tactical reason" to drop Aguero from first fixture was to make him sit and watch De Bruyne / Nolito harrying the back 4, chasing and closing space and see how Guardiola wanted him to play.

Since that game, he came straight back in the fold at West Brom - and I've never seen him run so much, and then again last night he was fantastic without even getting on the scoresheet.

I think we'll see a far more dynamic Aguero now which can only mean good things for City.

Lots of mistakes, but they were hounded into it by pressing. 2nd half we started brilliantly - one chance after another. And after that we refused to let Barcelona get a grip of the game. The turning point was the Barca player hitting the crossbar with goal gaping and then couple of minutes later it was 3-1. I'm still in shock with Messi. Losing for most of 2nd half, you'd expect a reaction from the world's best player. Nothing. No one thing of note did he do in 2nd half.

Stones had him in his back pocket

OH WHAT A NIGHT! Fantastisch result and the WAY we did it was even more satisfying.

Ok we had a spell for about 15 mins after they scored that reminded me of the previous encounters when we played them, but before that and from when we equalised we were terrific. The scenes after the match and the togetherness from the players shows Pep team building is in an advanced stage. This result hopefully brings the full believe from the players and fans in what he is aiming at.

Our defence looks fragile. So did Barca's over the two legs. I think every defence looks like that when you face the attacking power both teams have. In the 2nd half however hardly a shot on goal from them. Anyways WHAT A NIGHT !

You may be right. His running stats against West Brom showed he ran two kilometers more than his average.

Would be interesting to see his running stats for last night.

Think the reaction to the referee is slightly overstated to be honest. Yeah he was shit but certainly not corrupt or "all for barca", if he was, he'd have given aguero as handball for our 3rd etc. We got a lot of decisions last night and so did they, he was just crap
Yeah when our second goal is a free kick and the third has a handball shout I don't think we can claim too much bias from the ref.

All it takes is a few no-calls to offsides on Suarez and that's a draw. Thats the biased refereeing we saw under Ferguson.

What a beautiful glorious European night. Thank you Pep! And special thanks to Zab for rousing the crowd. You are a legend!!

Splitting fucking headache and I doubt I can say anything which hasn't already been said. BUT FUCKING COME ON!!!!!

Last night felt big. Like we've reached the next level. We've had the ability to do it for a while but not the mentality. As soon as Gundogan got his first everything changed.

Still absolutely buzzing and don't give a shit about the hangover. Congrats to every single one of the players, I couldn't even consider picking a man of the match; I'd kiss them all.
