City "appear" not to be appealing....

The appeal would be too risky. The fact what Mario has commited violent conduct and to say he lost the appeal, we would be looking at longer than 4 games IMO!

Given that we're focussing on the league I'm not too bothered about him not being available for tomorrow. If we manage to beat Liverpool and get to Wembley then great but if not then it's not the end of the world.

With regards the 3 league fixtures, Everton away is being reffed by Peter Walton so it doesn't matter who's playing, that's a nailed on defeat and to be honest it's probably better if Mario misses that one anyway as Walton would have sent him off.

That leaves Fulham at home and Villa away, winnable without Mario.

Not too bad.

Plus, silver lining; he'll be fully fit and raring to go for the run in.

Read the latest blog - about the most sensible post I've seen. Of course he should appeal - there is no way on earth anyone (other than Ballotelli) can say it was deliberate. On that basis I have absolutely no expectation that his appeal will be upheld but I doubt they would extend the ban beyond four matches. So nothing to lose and everything to gain

An appeal would mean that he was available for the Liverpool League Cup match but would not be available for the Blackburn (and possibly the Bolton home League match(es).

If the League Cup is priority, appeal. If the League is priority do not appeal.

We stand more chance of beating Liverpool away with Ballo playing. I'd be comfortable with Dzeko playing against Blackburn (and Bolton) at home in the League. We can have it all!

I thought Mario's red against Liverpool was 2 yellows, not a straight red. Therefore this would be his first ban for violent conduct and should only be three matches?

Yeah, no point appealing. They've obviously already decided that he did it on purpose, so what could we say that proves otherwise? We'd just have to say "He was just getting his balance, honest."

Pointless appealing anyway, they've already shown their true colours by stitching up Kompany. Fuck them, let's just keep winning matches and hurt the bitter bastards even more.

-- Tue Jan 24, 2012 1:45 pm --

Sad but true, Walton is appalling
