Still think we should risk the extra game though. Balotelli was sorely missed in the first semi. We need someone who can unlock a defence.
You fail to take into account the FA's capacity to interpret the rules in any way they choose, not to say invent new ones on the spot. I'd still appeal anyhow, we need to beat media-darlings and everyone's favourite victims liverpool. You're assuming the FA have to prove it was a stamp. They don't. Howard Webb has said, had he seen the challenge, miraculously, in slow motion, from a very specific angle, and numerous times, during the game he'd have sent off Balotelli, so the FA have charged him with the offence retrospectively.
