City "appear" not to be appealing....

Personally I would appeal. Even if it's upped then we would miss him for only Blackburn (home if it's 4 games) and Bolton (home if it's 5).

Should easily have too much for either of those at home but we need him more on Wednesday

Should we beat Liverpool tomorrow the Blackburn game would actually be the Carling Cup Final.
Ah. Though another game we should have enough to win without him (atleast one would hope).

Still think we should risk the extra game though. Balotelli was sorely missed in the first semi. We need someone who can unlock a defence.

Having read Platt's comments on Balotelli being charged I think he's got the mood, and statement absolutely spot on.

He's called into question Webb's integrity over him "not seeing" the incident, he's questioned the whole premise of reviewing matches, and incidents, from numerous camera angles the day after the event and changing your opinion, and he's drawn attention to the futility of an appeal for Balotelli and the appeal system as a whole by acknowledging that Kompany's ban was upheld despite virtually everyone knowing it was the wrong decision.

I love the way Platt said Roberto had asked him to speak so his comments wouldn't be 'exploited' by the media....Platt said Mario's challenge didn't look bad 'live' from multiple angles, that players didn't react....only when they slowed it down did it look poor.

So what are the media headlines in the rag Metro? "Mario Balotelli stamp doesn't look good, admits City no.2 David Platt"

What could they honestly say if City walked in and said "prove its a stamp"
The FA would be pretty fucked
You fail to take into account the FA's capacity to interpret the rules in any way they choose, not to say invent new ones on the spot. I'd still appeal anyhow, we need to beat media-darlings and everyone's favourite victims liverpool. City appearing in another final would piss-off all and sundry and would be a quick two-fingered response to the effluent tendency that is the media in this country.

Would still rather miss him against Blackburn or Palace than away at Anfield to be honest.

You're assuming the FA have to prove it was a stamp. They don't. Howard Webb has said, had he seen the challenge, miraculously, in slow motion, from a very specific angle, and numerous times, during the game he'd have sent off Balotelli, so the FA have charged him with the offence retrospectively. This isn't a court of law, you don't need absolute proof to find someone guilty.

As someone said earlier we should lodge an apeal at about 5.55pm (or just before the team bus arrives) tomorrow and let him play.

Does anyone remember united doing that with camel gob on the afternoon of our league cup semi 2nd leg at their place a couple of years ago?

I would absolutley love us to get to Wembley again, and really give it them scouse gob shites!

It would also show that we are sticking 2 fingers up at the FA (and media)! & would also show Mario that the club are backing him 100%!

Let us make the FA prove (and thats what the have to do remember) that he meant to do it.

-- Tue Jan 24, 2012 3:34 pm --

is that true mate? I thought they still have to prove beyond doubt that he intended to cause harm?

Yep and also remember him elbowing Tevez in the face during that game. Funnily enough it didn't get repeated on SSN ad nauseum the following day

We would then be walking out with a 5 match ban.

Yes but if we said prove it like they would need to in a court of law, there is no way they could. Thats why its a fucking joke
