City are very close to a tipping point.

What part of my post do you need to be gullible to believe?

I suppose you might need to be more positive than you feel comfortable being? (and thats not a criticism but I do sense we are built differently.) But I don't think gullible is an appropriate word.

DD it might just be that I am closer to being right than you and I reckon if thats the case you would be OK with that once it's happened?

Again, you've not actually said anything substantial, just a lot of vague/flakey one liners.

The bit about footballers wanting to do charity work and choosing Utd/Madrid over us for money because footballers want to be part of a club that doesn't hold trophies in as high esteem as other clubs is something you'd have to be more than a little gullable at this point to believe.

Again that word 'gullible', why?

I haven't said anything will happen, i haven't given dates, facts or figures but I have provided you with my vision for the club I support.

I remain convinced that what I say is closer to what will be than the idea that we are simply a plaything for a man who is oftentimes portrayed as a senseless mega rich arab.

If you dont agree with my vision that fine, no worries.

If you dont like the way I have offered nothing but flakey/vague one liners then please feel free to ignore the whole post. I am not speaking for the owner or the board here you know!

But it seems the counter argument s far offered is summed up thus "Pah, that wont happen!" - if I am flakey so are you ;-)

We are not in a real sense so stop making an idiot of yourself..Sheikh Mansour is the one responsible for City but the guys with a say in City matters are several in Abu Dhabi. Not least the other Bani Fatima brothers.

No, really. Manchester City was bought by Abu Dhabi United Group, a company setup for the sole purpose of purchasing it, which is wholly owned by Sheikh Mansour.

There is absolutely zero evidence, reports, gossip or anything approaching this that anybody else has any sort of involvement with the club except our Sheikh, and until you can provide something apart from idle speculation, shut up.

EDIT : Oh, and it was more of an on-running joke with fbloke that we have, but thanks for wading in anyway.

Damocles I would not insult S04 if I were you, he does know a thing or two.

Officially, we are owned by Sheikh Mansour and paid for with his private wealth. We were bought through a holding company (ADUG) created just for this very purpose.

I think what S04 is getting at, is that Sheikh Mansour will not make all the important decisions by himself (e.g. he would have had to have gotten approval from his big brother (Crown Prince) as well as a nod and a wink from the Emir before embarking on such a high-profile purchase). Small matters such as transfers (yes a few hundred million on players is small in the grand scheme of things), will most probably be signed off by Sheikh Mansour, but I guess S04 suspects that (informally at least) his 5 full brothers (Bani Fatima) may have an influence on City's future.

I for one would welcome the opportunity to be educated on that as it informs all of the decisions made about MCFC.

Feel free to PM me if it needs to remain on the QT.

I have read quite a lot of your posts and you appear to be very clued up on our owners and how they work.

How do you know so much?

Feel free to search for the "Sheikh watch" thread I posted here some time ago, it contains some info that might be of interest.

This is indeed case. Not a lot of people are aware that one of Sheikh Mansour's older brothers was sat next to Joan Laporta in the Barca directors boss at last season's Joan Camper trophy.

And he wasn't there for the gambas pil-pil!

Sheik Mansour was brought to the table by that clown Al Fahim (thanks) if you take his brash comments in isolation, at the very outset of the takeover, he definitely infers this to be an Abu Dhabi thing.

Only a few days later did the club put out a statement saying about a one equitable owner - Shiekh Mansour.

There is surely a pecking order, no matter how powerful and rich his highness may be.

Well, I reckon, that until I have any sort of evidence that somebody apart from the Sheikh owns the club, you're wrong. Put it this way, does Khalddon own the club? Does Garry Cook? Does Roberto Mancini or Brain Marwood? All of these people have a large influence on what goes on around the club BUT THEY DO NOT OWN IT. If Sheikh Mansour felt the need to, he could rename us as Stockport United PLC and there isn't a damn thing that anybody could legally do about it. This is because he owns the club 100%, it's his.

Read back my original post on the subject (which as I've already said, was completely in jest and directed at fbloke as part of an on running joke that we've had for the past few months), you will see that I slate people for referring to 'our owners' instead of 'our owner'.

Now, to absolutely further clarify this, so that everybody understands each other, I'll ask you one question. Is Manchester City 100% owned by Sheikh Mansour?

If you think it is, what the hell are you arguing about?

-- Mon Apr 05, 2010 7:19 pm --

With all due respect mate, he jumped on a joke and tried to turn it in to something it wasn't. He was also factually wrong in doing so (the best type of wrong).

Which is my point entirely.
