Or even a Mackie Mayor type set up with a few different breweries each having a bar in there. Plenty good beer being brewed at the minute.Said it in another thread, they would be mad not to open something between town and the campus once the new arena opens, a partnership with a major chain operator maybe.
The arena will create year round and midweek footfall which a football ground alone probably couldn’t sustain.

Always used to finish the Stockport Hillgate Stagger with a pint of Old Tom at the Blossoms, ladies included. Never any trouble (though we avoided Winters as it was a Rag pub though the Holt was good).A pint of old Tom and you won’t be seeing anything , bad memories of that stuff as a teenager. Would only serve it in half pints , drink of the devil that stuff

What we really need is a change to the archaic legislation known as the 'Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc) Act' which was introduced by Thatcher's mob in 1985 to prevent the consumption of alcohol within view of the playing area at football stadia. A 2015 petition sought to amend the rules such that local licensing authorities would have the authority to decide and made the following arguments against the existing legislation.
Discriminatory - This discriminates against football fans and reeks of class bias.
Anti-Competitive - The law as it stands clearly gives other sports clubs e.g. rugby clubs, an unfair competitive advantage over football clubs in their sales of hospitality and sponsorship packages especially when they share a city or even a stadium.
Outdated - Football has changed beyond all recognition in recent years. The reason for the implementation of the act is no longer valid.
Unfortunately, the petition was unable to proceed due to an impending general election following which the new coalition government buried it.

A city watch party ????.I wasn't sure if this belonged here or the Off Topic board but what beer do you typically associate with City? Like if you were throwing a City watch party you wouldn't stock up on Blue Moon Belgian White would you?
