City being underestimated again ?

We'll see about Liverpool when they're having to play two games a week. The rags are the bigger danger, being out of Europe and all.

Last year all the pundits before the season said Chelsea or United would win the title, with the odd Liverpool shout. They then spent the entire season claiming we should be winning by miles, while never mentioning that the rags or Mourinho should be challenging. Best to just ignore these numpties

Yes the pundits did, but the Bookies had us faves, all along (obviously apart from a 2/3 week period) I even remember 1 Sunday article with 1 of those "who will win the title and why 4 page specials" I think just after Arsenal had collapsed and it became a 3 horse race. They had a 1st 2nd 3rd thing, and out of 12, city had 2, Liverpool maybe 3/4 and Chelsea the other 6/7 top spots, but the bookies had us faves by a mile! If they have Chelsea shorter than us i'd be very surprised!

When I was saying (among others) last summer that we were better than Chelsea... Not everyone agreed and the season proved we were better.

This season Chelsea already significantly improved their squad, we've got to do adjustment also. Fernando is a good move, we now need Benatia and two more players to join.

Chelsea are favourites
How and why?

Lampard and Cole have left.

Fàbregas is a top player but a player who doesn't fit the Mourinho mould. It's a perplexing transfer.

Costa is the player they needed but they still have no one else up front apart from Hazard.

Liverpool without Suarez will be a good team but never a great team.

United have spent £60 million an a teenager and an unknown midfielder from Spain.

Arsenal have their thumb up their arse.

It boggles my mind how we are anything but favourites.

I don't think that Cole and Lampard are really a loss for them. There team looks so strong

I think they under-performed in the League last season but yet there results against the top 4 were the strongest.
Man Utd 0-0 Chelsea
Chelsea 2-1 Man City
Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea
Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
Chelsea 3-1 Man Utd
Man City 0-1 Chelsea
Chelsea 6-0 Arsenal
Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea

You can't tell me that their first 11 doesn't look strong, add to that the strength in depth they have in there squad.

The game at the Bridge could have gone either way but we were dominated at the Etihad.
Only Bayern and Dortmund made this type of performance against us where you could clearly see we were the weaker team on the day.
They bossed the midfield against us and Matic dominated YaYa

At this point in the transfer window they should be considered clear favourites

I agree that Chelsea will start favourites and the red dippers armed with the suarez sale money will be close as well! gonna be a toughie for us next season but we have a great squad and will certainly be there or there abouts.

For me, backing both City and Chelsea at 2/1 is the best 1/2 bet you will ever see, as it's nailed on that one of those teams will win it.
In fact I have a mate who has had a five figure bet/investment on just that outcome, only he got 9/4 the pair.
Has no one told him, it's going to be the dippers year this year & that LDV bloke at the swamp has had a trophy named after him so he must be good.
