City Circle

Am seriously pissed off with this now.

City have really fucked up with this and should be compensating the buyers not fobbing people off with copy certificates that don't turn up.

They have copy and paste answers to everything and just don't seem to care they've been fucking us about for almost two years.

People will be entitled to a refund if they don't receive the goods they were promised. There shouldn't be much of an issue if people demand their money back (I've not seen the small print in the offer, but it's unlikely it would stand up in small claims court, they'd just be told to refund the money, plus is bad PR).

They've mad a bit of a hash of it, and should cancel it, or adequately compensate people with something tangible NOW.

Has anyone been offered/asked for a refund ? Given the length of time this has dragged on and the lack of comms about it, it would be the right thing to do.

Every time my in-laws have contacted the club to ask whats happening, they get an automated response back, asking if they'd like to buy one.

Every part of the club seems to run like a well-oiled machine, apart from this. City circle is being handled in a manner that even Peter Swales would be ashamed of.

I received this email two months ago.

Dear Paul,

Further to our last communication on 3rd January, the Club is pleased to confirm our plans to expand the Etihad Stadium into one of the largest and most technologically sophisticated stadiums in Europe has received full planning permission, with work commencing immediately on the South Stand.

In order to realise this ambition and undertake such a large-scale build, we have had to revise both the design and the location of the existing City Circle proposal, due to the impact of the construction programme and building work.

We are delighted to officially announce the new and revised City Circle design concept, crafted from several thousand steel, glass and bronze discs will have the words ‘Blue Moon’ at its centre and will be located on Commonwealth Way.

The foot of the iconic new footbridge, connecting the Etihad Stadium to City Football Academy, will be accessible to supporters seven days per week and serve as the perfect location to showcase your cherished memories and messages.

The installation, which is subject to planning approval, is scheduled to begin in August 2014, based on the programme of construction works for the bridge.

The City Circle is lost in a City Triangle resembling the inbox of a City Square pi$$-up.

I'm patient. I'm annoyed. I can't wait - I'm 32 this year and if it arrives when I am 70, I'd be glad the whole ordeal is over.

I know what you mean....mine was part of a prezzie for my 50th I'm now 51 and counting.

Remember this?

Just had a phone call from investors in Sport. They are a Birmingham based company who were contracted by City back in 2012 to provide this service based on what the club dictated.

Currently they are sat completely in the dark as to what is happening with a project they were contracted to provide. I was informed that the representative at City who Investors in Sport were dealing with left their post not long after this concept was released.

Since then there has been almost zero contact with the club, as it would appear that there seems to be nobody at the club either interested or willing to run with this project!

Absolutely fucking incredible!

I am assured that there is absolutely no chance of those discs being installed this year and no chance whatsoever unless somebody at City pulls their finger out.

I've just emailed them saying I'm writing to the MEN about this and would they care to comment before I do.

Absolute joke.
