City Fans In Glasgow

St Marks Gorton was Church of England, i don't know of any catholic links in our clubs history, not that it matters but like you said i always thought between us and united they are the club that holds the links, which is why i assume they have a large irish following

Their Irish following is because they were founded by railway workers and in those days most of the railway workers were irish.

I for one hate all this nonsense that goes with Rangers affiliation.

Leave all that crap to the blokes north of the border if they want to get involved with such shenanigans. I want folk to feel comfortable supporting City regardless of race, creed or religious preference. Bringing a flag with all that nonsense to a Celtic game is there just to antagonise. I remember going to Wycombe away and some tools in their end wearing ManYoo tops thinking they were great for such a mighty jape.

Over the last few years I've paid more attention to Celtic for the sole reason we've had players on loan there but even then it's a fleeting glance about the player.

The whole sectarian bullshit reminds me of 2 fleas on a dog arguing over who owns it.

Time to leave it where it belongs 'IN THE PAST'

No fucking way that they are from Manchester or would ever bring that to Eastlands...Like City would ever associate with the Red Hand Of Ulster

And this here is the problem... My hatred for Celtic stems from conditioning, much like that of yours, and I'd say most of the boards, feelings towards the red half of Trafford..... Religion has never even entered my thought process as it was never about that, more loyalty to a bloodline.... Thankfully my generation is the one leaving that shit where it belongs, in the pulpit with the other deluded fuckers!!!

Saw a Celtic fan make a comment on Twitter about a minority of City fans probably mingling with Rangers but that traditionally Everton and City are the catholic clubs. I always thought rags were seen as the catholic club. I'm not sure what St. Marks was but to me (and I'm sure the vast majority of City fans) we have only ever aligned ourselves with being a community club and nothing more.
City were founded by Ulster Protestants if I recall correctly. United were always seen as the 'Catholic' team in Manchester. But that is all history now as it is between Liverpool and Everton.

At one stage there were religious divides between Hearts and Hibs in Edinburgh and Dundee and Dundee United. That is gone now. Only Glasgow and Belfast cling to these neandertal ideas.

If anyone sees this shit in the city end please take it off them and shove it up their arse. Fucking hate bollocks like this. No way they are from Manchester

we've always had flags like that at the etihad/city at times ( not that i agree with it). they could very well be from manchester, lots of people with links to northern irleand including myself.
