City fans in Sevilla

I was at a Betis game in the 80's and was introduced to the Team Priest who told me that Betis were the working class team and Seville the big money team in the city. City were crap in those days but he remembered that we used to be a big team in the 60's and knew about us winning the European Cup Winners Cup and Bell and Franny Lee.

Or rather.. Seville is situated in a better area than Betis, nowadays I doubt there´s a income divide between fans

Just on the rattler up to Piccadilly listening to some hooray Henry posh home county girls rabbiting on!! All I need after 4 days of drinking and travelling and very little sleep, like most people have said that is one of the best trips I've been on,Salzburg possibly better in my opinion! Loved Seville but got to say I was very impressed with Malaga ,fantastic place! Even had a couple in Cordoba em route to Seville, just looking forward to my own bed and a nice kiss n cuggle off her indoors! C'mon City!!!!!!

Probably right there. I know that a lot of Betis fans used to come from the Triana area, across the river, which was a poorer part of the city. Either way, I've always liked Betis better!

Ha, yeah Betis definitely seemed to be the team of the man in the street. Felt like virtually all bar staff, taxi drivers etc were Betis fans.

Yeah, we found this to be the case too. There was a something in a local paper a couple of years ago though, along the lines of the city being 33% Sevilla, 34% Betis, 33% Other. A bit strange I thought at the time and definitely not what we experienced over the last couple of days.

One thing I found utterly bizarre, was the lack of Sevilla fans we encountered, we must have asked about 30 different people around the city, from all walks of life, who they supported, we only encountered two Sevilla fans and one of them worked at the airport on our way home, every single other person were Real Betis supporters!
I noticed that as well

I'm an ex-pat Sevilla fan and it was almost a pleasure to watch that performance by city, I think you would have beaten any team on the night. Just go and beat Juve now and give us a very slim hope of going through.

My only complaint is that on entering my usual post match watering hole for my customary 2 beers I was accosted by around 20 city fans who made sure that I didn't leave until the early hours and woke up the next morning with my first hang over for over 20yrs.

It was great to meet you lads and you are welcome back any time.

SHIT!! I THOUGHT YOU WERE BACK ON FRIDAY!

After a very early 2am alarm my mate and I got the bus from our local town in NI to Dublin airport for the 7am Ryanair flight to Seville.. Was surprised to be on the plane with a couple of mancs that had flown over to Dublin to catch this flight. Seville is a great spot with very cheap food and drink and hotels, we sat at a tapas bar with a group of City fans most of the afternoon drinking and eating and it only came to 20 Euro each couldn't believe it! We then decided to take an early stroll towards the stadium via a few more bars but were met with city fans who had got off the train near the stadium being escorted by the police back to the city centre.. We decided to duck into a local bar where the owner refused payment for our beers as we were City fans as he was Betis
Fan! Top City and people bar the few knobheass you get anywhere would definitely go back.
