City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

As much as we'd like to think it's the hottest tkt in town - you can't give em away - at least on tkt exchange and on the few occasions I've offered one for free on here.
Think you need 2 together to be successful.
Concerning really - given the players the manager and the exceptional football.

Which is why an extension of the ground may work.
Unless City reorganise the whole ground and have people shuffle up single tickets will remain unsold.

I'm not sure how the problem of match day tickets being dispersed all, over as singles has come from, guessing, I suppose when the south extension was done rows or groups of seats were set aside for matchday sales, I Always knew when tickets went on sale where I'd find seats together. I suppose since then relocations have split tose seats up plus now all matches become available in the summer so the best get snapped up. Its much harder to get seats together than even 2 years ago
I Certainly think singles are harderfor the club to sell. The only solution I see is not letting s/ c relocate to areas designated match day sales. Or expansion to make more room if it leads to a few seats being unsold for some games , it really doesnt matter.

This whole argument about empty seats is a strange one for me.
It only seems to be in response to Rags and their sycophant press using the only thing they have to have a go at us.
If the club say it's empty but sold they have had their money and should be happy.
I have noticed near me fans coming on ticket exchange tickets seldom if ever sing so atmosphere wise the seat may as well be empty.
Surely if a fan buys a season ticket it is up to them when and how he uses it.
The obvious answer would be make them so expensive it would not make sense not to use it.
Less people would be able to afford them and thus leaving loads more match day sales tickets.
Not sure many including the club would want to go down that route.
Also I am on holiday as we speak and have left my two cars at home funny there has been no mad clammer for me to let someone else use them.

Whether we have 100 or 10k empty seats the effect on the atmosphere in the Etihad makes no difference. Fans have changed and great atmospheres are largely a thing of the past. Fan demographics show this.
My view is use your season ticket or don't sing or don't.
Leave at half time for all I care.
I will be in my seat singing on my own for all I care.
If you really want to do something about it move to 114 and join 1894 group who I know are not perfect (sorry M18CTID) but moaning on here and debating with blues on another continent does nothing.

Dats coz they were nicked last night :)

How would you think a stand with unallocated seating would work?

If I was in charge of the ticket office I would do a slight shuffle of the seats every season straight after the window for renewing has closed.
I would close up all the gaps and yes I know some people think the seat is “theirs” but what they really want is to be sat with the same people arond them, and I’d maintain that with the shuffle.
This then will open up swathes of tickets in groups rather than singles, then do another shuffle after taking on new seasoncard holders.

Back in the day, I know I’m old, I used to go to gigs at the free trade hall. They had a print out of the seating plan and when you bought a ticket they crossed that seat off. But you had to buy the seat next to someone else and they filled the rows from the middle out.

How would you think a stand with unallocated seating would work?
I think it would be a great idea.
But I’d have a percentage of the tickets also available for match day sales, so a seasoncard holder can bring a mate/family, kid.
I’d also have a steward there making sure they filled up from the centre out, with no gaps.

If they are introducing safe standing, that’s the only way it will really work.

I’d could come and sit next to you and make friends! Let’s hope it happens. I like you second idea as well - there is not enough flexibility. I never know which kids want to come to the match with me and it’s a complete pain getting us all together at times.

Yes possibly but I only have one. It still irks me if I hear people moaning they can't get to see a game and my ticket remains unsold.
What evidence do you have that single seats are unsold?

The guy next to me is a London season ticket holder. Sometimes he doesn't come. Each time he's sold it. A bit anecdotal perhaps, but you might be assuming they are unsold when in fact they are? Burnley home game was sold out weeks in advance with exception of a turnover on Ticket Exchange. When I walked past on match day about an hour before KO, Ticket Office window's said it was 'Today's Match Sold Out.'
