City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

I mean people from Manchester who havent got 2 bob to rub together we all no loads of mates &family who have stopped going because of the ticket price .these fans are being replaced with people who come just for a day out and are not interested in supporting or cheering for City .we are going the same way as the rags .while some season tickets prices are very cheap the same cant be said for individual match day tickets so it hardly suprising game after game there are loads of empty seats and the atmosphere is crap
Individual match tickets usually sell out, the only tickets left are either returned away fans, level 2 /3 or s/c seats on resale. The majority of empty seats are already sold.
Take me I go to about 6 a season. costs me about £250. Now I could easily be tempted by a£299 s/c. If I did though I couldn't attend more than another 2 or 3 games , so unless I could resell my seat it would be empty 9 games a season. So you could put empty seats down to the cheapness of s/c as much as the expense of matchday tickets that usually sell out.
Yes there might be a few hundred 'tourists' but don't blame them for any lack of atmosphere in a 54000 attendance, with 40 plus thousand season ticket holders.

I dont shoulder the blame on people who only come now and again for the lack of atmospere .my point is £50 plus for a game has put of alot of old school and new fans from going .many i know only go to the cup games as alot cheaper .still cant believe their so many empty seats especialy against Liverpool.dont no if it still happens but City sold loads to ticket agencies .sometimes the agencies couldnt shift them resulting in empty seats. after saying that we are getting nearly 20.000 more than we did when we were at Maine road so it aint all bad

Perhaps the solution is that for any S/T, if it's not scanned in a minimum number of games per season (which allows for resale via the OS) then it doesn't get renewed but gives someone else a shot at getting one.

Horrible solution.

Not the best solution, my sister is at university 3 hours away so only makes it to around 10 home games a season, with friends occasionally using the ticket also. She continues to have her ticket so she's got it for when she moves back to Manchester, wouldn't really be fair on her (a season ticket holder for 10+ years) to not be allowed to renew because she's not met a minimum requirement.

Playing devils advocate it could be argued she is depriving a fellow fan of a season ticket and could always get another when uni is finished.i honestly dont no what the answering but i bet the owners never expected to see so many empty seats during a game or so many leaving early. Only they can solve the issue that is if indeed.they think it is a problem

If her friends are using it when she doesn't then it could be used around 15 games say out of the 19, depending on the limit set she'd be safe. She can always put it on the OS for resale for the others.

Don't think the empty seats is a big deal, especially when most are sold. the leaving early I don't like to see but not sure much can be done to stop it really. Not sure they can do much about either short of making s/c holders attend.

Aye.

A much better solution is to have a raft of season ticket holders who buy them then go to 6 games a year, artificially creating demand and hiking up prices for everybody else as well as depriving the younger 16-25 generations both financially and logistically from getting one which means you get crowds mainly consisting of 40-50 year old whinging gits who don't have the energy or will to create an atmosphere

It's a good thing they aren't the only two solutions available to the club.
