City Fans Leaving Early/Empty seats

You are Billy Whiz and I claim my £5.
I wish I could walk at 6-7 miles an hour for a mile, drive 3 miles to the Failsworth junction in traffic, and then get to the airport turn off in 30 minutes. I must be getting old! ;-)

I sit in East L1
If ever I go with a mate who sits in the East L1/Family stand corner, it takes me at least another forty minutes to complete the same journey, because of the wait for him and that I am caught in the traffic

I go out the back way via the small roads that bring you to the back of Tesco

They organised the invasions of Belgium,France,Czechoslovakia & Poland based on superb planning & execution of the rail networks & system.

Their ability to move troops and equipment between the Eastern & Western Fronts kept them in the FWW longer than otherwise would've been the case.

German transport works.....then & now.

Brilliant, lmao..

I knew once that 'top secret' collar site picture was finally exposed, this thread would, um, not so much blow up but cause discussions over seating plans!
Still... the transport there struggles at times and add in a 24/7 - 365 days a year leisure attraction and there be storms ahead.

I sit in EL304, and it can take 10 minutes just to get down the spiral. By then, it's frantic to get away. It never seemed to be this bad when leaving the Kippax!

I don't leave early - never see the point. I've paid a fortune to watch a game so I watch every damn minute. The getting away from the ground issues are caused by the infrastructure around the ground and more widely across the city. A few people have made comparisons with Germany - compare Manchester to say Stuttgart that has a better tram and transportation system and a network of roads that run under the city - Manchester is gridlocked even on non match days in the late afternoon and early evening. The road network across and around Manchester is wholly inadequate. We (City) just add to a wider problem whenever we play and there is simply no appetite in the UK for huge infrastructure projects outside the capital. To highlight the point - most major Cities across Europe have a proper underground system - in Germany trams run below ground in the city centre. How many uk cities have an underground network? London and Newcastle ? Plus a bit of a system in Glasgow and Liverpool.

As I said previously, the timing just didn't stack up, and I wasn't having a dig. You were very lucky having hardly any waiting time at the ground. How was the concert?
We also had the advantage of sitting in Section 232 very near the exit. It is a quick walk down the spirals to the Metrolink Station.

The gig was great.

Let's but honest, it's not thousands and definitely wasn't against Liverpool.

There's a few dotted about in sold out stands and a lot of the time this is just season ticket holders or complimentary seats not being taken up.

People who watch on TV often don't get a true impression. They see a few empty seats early on and then presume the ground is half empty, when in fact people are queuing to get in outside 10-15 mins into the game. That first impression stickers with them despite the ground filling up as the game goes on. The TV crowd don't see the ground in full either so presume that because there's a few empty seats in the family stand that this means there are empty seats all over the ground. The third tiers are actually usually the fullest for league games due to lots of one off ticket sales.

Against Stoke a lot of people with tickets just didn't come due to the late fixture change. That's the only league game this season where it was a lot.
I watched Liverpool game on telly in Turkey i reckon there was at least 2-3 thousand empty seats. The way to fill them is to flog the tickets cheaper to the working class fans from Manchester not price them out then flog the tickets to someone who will spend a fortune in the souviner shop
