I want to win everything we enter but I don't give it too much more importance than a domestic cup. the idea that winning it makes you the best in Europe and the fanfare behind it isn't something I buy into.

It can provide elite quality games like the semi final and last seasons final but the best team infrequently wins it. Chelsea aren't one of the best two in Europe this season, Liverpool and Spurs weren't the best that season, Real Madrid wasn't winning league titles when they won their consecutive titles, it's a luck based Cup competition it's not the be all and end all its made out to be.

The only way it would be what they claim it to be is if they changed the format so that only league winners are permitted entry and its a straight up none seeded 2 legged knockout from the off.

I've thought a bit this week about the small-minded Likkle City fans who've always lurked, claiming not the care about the biggest club competition in the world. They are our "legacy" fans, stuck in an era where City defined themselves by the odd derby victory and hope of a cup final every decade or so.

Hopefully the quality, the excitement, the hype, the profile and the euphoria of this week's game has illustrated to these people how they need to heave themselves into the modern world of MCFC.

I'm going to use a wank phrase: "What's not to like"? This is as exciting as 1999, 2000, 2011 and 12.

Fuck me! Stop acting like your shit don't stink.

Our owners want it and our detractors use it to beat us down, let's win it and get it out of our system. And if we win it again next year, the year after, the year after that that's great, but it's a sideshow, like all cup competitions.

It's the league that matters and every football fan knows it.

No if we win we win it,if we don’t we don’t,but I still don’t like the corrupt fuckers that make up uefa

I have no love for this competition , corrupt shits, watch us get the spain twat in the final, however i see what it means to the team so i want it for them

Do you not feel that the same corruption exists domestically as well though? We've just managed to overcome that a lot sooner and because it's 38 games it's a lot harder for bad decisions in a few games to derail us?

When you look back at our experience in the CL in previous seasons, there's the penalty at Anfield which could have made it 3-1 (we'd have possibly missed it anyway!). There's the Sane goal wrongly ruled out in the return leg which makes it 2-0 at halftime and therefore advantage City at that stage. Then the Spurs game where we get a penalty and miss it (but was it a penalty?), the handball goal from Llorente which would be ruled out now... and we're out.

There are a lot of close calls and definite corruption but we beat them in the courts, we've stayed in the competition and we're now in the final.

For me, my mentality is that the best way to make our point is to win it. They've tried so hard to ban us and quite probably given us some dodgy calls too, but it hasn't stopped us and winning it would be the ultimate insult for them. The same way winning the league was monumental. Not just because we won it, but because the rags were so close to. It was all the more special for how it happened.

I feel like, in not caring about the CL, we're at odds with the club and players across the world. We're giving into UEFA whereas we should be taking them head on and trying to dominate their competition to prove we can't be stopped.

If you want to equate winning this to winning the Carabou Cup then there's no helping you.

This will be the biggest, most important and most prestigious "sideshow" in the club's history and the euphoria around winning it if we do would quite rightly be as much as winning the premier league in 2012. It would be the pinnacle of 128 year's history.

No, you do.

"Important", "prestigious"

No doubt.

Our owners love it so much that ten days ago they opted to leave it.

Yes, always loved watching it as a kid. Dreamt of City qualifying, never mind getting to a final.

I'm absolutely gutted this is the year we got there though. I was imagining how incredible the atmosphere would have been on Tuesday night if it were a full house. The stadium would have been rocking. Such a shame that this horrible virus has robbed one of our greatest nights from us. Fortunately, we're so good that this definitely won't be our last Champions League final.
