As big as the Etihad deal, but broken up over more companies.

Could be worth as much as £50m extra a season.
Fantastic.

We might need to spend again

MIGHT?

take it you didn't sit through last night?

We dont need to spend a lot to compete for the PL, probably around 50M each season, but to progress in the CL, more like twice that value. Sort of like what the rags are doing, or what we did to get to our first title, but for the CL

We will blow it all out of the water in the next few weeks.

When the campus opens the world and Uefa will be foaming at the mouth at the size of some sponsorship deals.

They were warned, 'a pinch'.

we have stuff lined up then, Tolm? Are we talking 8 or 9 figures overall per season?

As big as the Etihad deal, but broken up over more companies.

yes, that would make sense. Between the training pitches, bridge, kits, mini eithad - lots of opportunity

Great news. FFP is already practically irrelevant to us.

Worth noting that the current sponsors that are named in the planning app today include Aabar, Abu Dhabi, Etihad and Nike.

Elsewhere in the doc's there are sponsors across the CFA and on the bridge.

If they were the same as we already have they surely would have been named?

So new sponsors are just around the corner and there will be more than 1.
Do you know if Khaldoon's Kabs were mentioned as one of the sponsors?

Adrian Durham actually STICKING UP FOR US on Talksport re: FFP right now!

Incredibly, even Paul Wilson from The Guardian has criticised FFP, in an article relating to last night's attendance:

What was supposed to level the overall playing field has done nothing of the sort; if anything FFP protects the established elite and makes it harder for newcomers to join the party. But, and here is the rule of unintended consequences again, FFP impacts on the fans because it forces clubs to maximise revenue. City are a rich outfit, they have wealthy backers and oodles of television money, they could have made seats available at £10 a time for the Roma game. Except that is not possible anymore, because the balance sheet at the end of the season is what your overall spending will be judged against.

With the exception of Martin Samuels, I can't think of any journalists who were against ffp. If City fans could see what would happen, why couldn't they ? Perhaps their new found concern over the ffp rules has absolutely nothing to do with us.
I would suggest Paul Wilson couldn't give a shit how much City fans are paying for their tickets. He might however have just woke up to the fact that his club may be affected by ffp too.

This is more like the truth.

Papers now recognise that more and more clubs could very well be affected so a bit of balanced opinion may help circulation figures so why not use the empty seats to advantage.

Spot the journalist who doesn't know his arse from his elbow when it comes to FFP and financial matters. The P&L is all that matters in FFP - the balance sheet doesn't come into it, hence why Glazer debt is not even considered.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Rob Pollard, from the Podcast team, interviewed Martin Samuel yesterday about FFP and City in Europe. Should be on this week's podcast (out on Friday). Looking forward to it.
