Have I got this right?
Platini tells us that FFP is designed to drive down inflation in the transfer and salary markets ( amongst other things) , then uefa sell the tv rights to the CL for an extraordinarily inflated fee , which is then distributed to already hugely wealthy participants in that competition, who then spend hugely inflated sums on "galacticos" and pay them £300,000+ a week thus causing huge inflation in the transfer and salary markets, widening the gap between themselves and the rest of the clubs, but uefa and the "elite" clubs don't mind because it means that will go on qualifying for the CL and picking up the huge sums ,and buying "galacticos" at hugely inflated inflated fees and salaries .........seems fair don't it?

To simple for them to understand that

We will blow it all out of the water in the next few weeks.

When the campus opens the world and Uefa will be foaming at the mouth at the size of some sponsorship deals.

They were warned, 'a pinch'.
I have no doubt this is true and underlines why last night isn't really all that important in the wider scheme of things at Manchester City.

Throughout the last six years our owners, against the expectations of many within football, have delivered the goods again and again.

Partly through guile and also by stealth, they've come up with various ways to overcome the obstacles the club has had placed before it.

Throughout this time they've not uttered anything against the walls that have been systematically placed in their way, knowing you've got to choose your battles. They understand at a game of cards, you've sometimes got to let the other guy think he's winning.

This club is only going one way.

Never in doubt. They can run but they can't hide. Peek-a-boo.
I've been predicitng this,if an utter wank team with fuck all to play for can get a £700+ million deal, you know the rest !

Good innit?
They're going to defend their policy on selling the tv rights against the complaint from Virgin, claiming that more TV games will deter people going to games and will affect the attendances thus reducing match day revenues , which they tell us is absolutely vital to the revenues of most clubs.
Then they support a system (FFP) which by its very nature will cause ticket prices to rise because revenues need to be maximised , thereby deterring people from going to games!!

That is Catch 22 explained very well!!!

So we can afford Di Maria now then? Bugger, although we must have someone better lined up.

It's going to start to get a little Messi ;o)

100% agree.

I think everything that is going on hints directly at him coming in the summer.

FFP a mere distant memory or even total scrapping and sponsors falling over themselves to sign up.

Bizarrely, I thought Messi signing a new contract was a firm sign that he will leave next summer.

And once the big money starts to roll in and in light of many of us feeling the pinch, I genuinely think City will reduce ticket prices.

For all his problems, Uli Hoeness said something on the lines of, "why should we charge the fans abit more and raise an extra couple of million. How will that benefit us?"

And I think City will do something similar and ground-breaking.

You may notice that I am a glass half-full fella.

The business side of the club along with other ADUG projects has been quietly yet efficiently developed at a pace that other clubs considered to be impossible.
The G14+ football sector looked simply at the prize and how to share it then relied on protectionism in the form of FFP as a clear 'barrier to entry' for any newcomers.

Hats off to ADUG for the speed of implementation of their Business Plan which was and still is a puzzle to the complacent owners of the so called elite clubs.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

This has probably been asked before, but when are last season's accounts released? Be interesting to see how close to breaking even we are.
