I don't think the club have any intention of spending as much as we're allowed to within the confines of FFP.

Where we are at right now, is where we'll stay IMO. We'll spend where we need to, but we won't go crazy.

So even if we start raking in the profit I don't think it will see a huge change in transfer policy.

I don't think we will ever go 'crazy', but like other transfer windows we have brought the players in that we need.

Having said that we are still 2 or 3 top draw players off competing at the top end of the CL

For FFP, there's not a lot they can do that would only affect us - the rags have a sponsored training ground and shirt, so they can't stop us having one, especially if it ends up being Nissan and is in no way related. The related thing is dodgy anyway - the rags have an American owner, so is American sponsorship related? Of course not, hence why nothing happened over Etihad.

The best bit of all this is 'when the Sheikh gets bored', we're left with a sustainable business model and a profitable club. Without FFP, we could have been his plaything and at risk of him walking. So thanks Platini, Gill, Wenger et al, you're attempts to stop us have guaranteed us to be one of Europe's elite forever.
FFP doesn't prevent that, look at Monaco or Malaga. Their owners there stopped funding, even though they still own the clubs.

Clearly FFP doesn't stop that, which is one of the many things which is wrong with it. However, without FFP, Mansour could have just poured in £200m a season for 10 years to enable us to win stuff and raise Abu Dhabi's profile and then walked (if that was what he wanted). FFP stops him doing that, so he had to make us self sufficient (which was probably always his plan), so all those telling us he'd get bored have put rules in place which ensures even if he does, we'll still be one of the elite.

And the best bit is, rags and Arsenal fans still think we'd be screwed if he left. They have no idea.

Why? He could just have walked anyway.

Let's not kid ourselves. Do you really think the likes of Etihad and Nissan would remain as sponsers if Mansour decided to sell?

Maybe not those specific sponsors but, given by the time the Sheikh chooses to sell up we'll likely have a plethora of top trophies behind us and have established ourselves as one of Europe's top clubs, we'll be far more attractive than we were before he arrived and still be able to attract top level sponsors willing to spend big on being associated with a successful "product".

God I hate talking about football clubs as products.

Why wouldn't they? Our relationship with Etihad has been extremely beneficial to both parties and Nissan came on board because of Ferran Soriano's CFG brainchild and their club in Yokohoma.

City are getting to the point where we don't need huge capital injections. Although we could not have got there without the investment.

Can we cock-it-up from here?
