Sorry for asking a question that's probably been asked many times before, but it's a huge thread.

Does anyone know if we will be allowed to spend 'freely' from January 2015 and onwards if we are found to have complied with the FFP rules this year? I've read quite a few times that the penalty will be lifted if we stay within the limits that have been set out for us.

We can spend what we want providing we stay within the limits so we would need to sell players to make up any deficit but that is separate and a part of the punishment. I don't know the terms of the sanctions but I'd assume if we failed FFP again we'd get another separate sanction, if we pass we don't. Whether we pass at the next calculation or not, as far as I know, the penalties stand for the next 2 seasons regardless as a punishment.

EDIT --- Just read again, we will operate without sanction if we pass FFP next season. I'm sure the club will have a good idea whether we will pass or fail so we can spend what we want next summer.

Of course, UEFA could move the goalpost once again.

nah they would never do such a thing ;)

would we need to sell to buy in january

Re: City & FFP (continued)

We can spend in January but it depends a lot on whether the negredo money is legally committed and thus can be booked as income and how uefa measure net spend as to whether it is 15 or 40m we have I suspecy

Re: City & FFP (continued)

We must have monet to spend - transfers from summer was around 20 mill.

This is ammortised so virtually nothing on the books

Our cap was net spend not ammortised spend, not sure if we are allowed to include the Negredo fee probably not so we won't have that much to spend in January. Assuming the cap included January window as well, which I'm not sure about.

can't remember the exact number but our net left to spend was in the mid to high 20 millions plus what ever we bring for nasty and sinclair etc

so its a fair whack for the jan sales

Re: City & FFP (continued)

we'll have money to either get in a striker, a central midfielder or a left back (assuming we are after quality). Maybe two of those if we also sell a left back

£30m to spend in January not including the Negredo transfer.

Thanks , more than I thought and if we can sell Nasty, Sinclair and Guidetti it could be 40 -45 mill. Course if we get knocked out of Europe The caps and squad restriction won't apply for the rest of the season.
